Hi -
I'm trying to get my ASP.NET pages to work the same way on my development
machine (running from the VS.NET IDE) and on a remote (3rd-party) server.
The only way I've been able to come up with requires changing the page
directive for each page between codebehind (for the IDE) and src (for the
remote server). While that's a bit annoying for a single page, it's a
pretty untenable approach for a website with lots of pages.
Is there...

I'm trying to create an RSS feed that is written dynamically by an
ASP.NET page. I know there are several ways to do it, but the quickest
for me was to follow the Scott Mitchell tutorial at
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnaspp/html/aspnet-createrssw-aspnet.asp.
I think the problem is that the <@ page > directive at the top of the
ASP.NET page creates a blank first line in the outputted XML. This
blank...

I'm using VS 2005 Beta 2.
In VS 2003, the Page directive in an aspx page has Language and
CodeBehind attributes. You can have the language be different than the
code behind file language. For instance, you can have
Language="vb"
CodeBehind="classA.cs"
In VS 2005, the CodeBehind attribute seems to have been replaced with

Hi,
(ASP.Net 1.1) is it possible to (programmatically and globally)
deactivate page fragment caching? We have only two scenarios,
development stage where we want caching off and testing where we want
caching on. Is this doable? I think there is a config switch in 2.0,
anything in 1.1?
TIA for any hint,

I opened an asp page in VS.net 2002 and then saved it as an aspx page.
I was prompted if I wanted to create the class file for the page and clicked
yes.
Now when I try and open the page I get the error message :
"There can be only one 'page' directive."
I am sick of these problems.

When our asp.net pages are rendered out as html the page directive is still
in the html.
ie. The following page directive is present in the body of the html of the
rendered page:
<%@ Page CodeBehind="about.aspx.cs" Language="c#" AutoEventWireup="false"
Inherits="Briggs.about" %>
<%@ Register TagPrefix="uc1" TagName="WebUserControlSearch"
Src="WebUserControlSearch.ascx" %>

Is there any way to access the custom properties of a master page from the
aspx form?
I know the custom properties of a master page can be accessed from the
aspx.cs partial class by specifying the MasterType directive on the aspx form.
My master page will render a custom navigation menu and I'd like to put in
the properties of which tab and sub tab to load and other misc style info in
the aspx form that can be used by master page.

Hi,
I have just installed the web application project addon for VS2005.
I want to have a master page so I put a directive in the web config pointing
to my page.
Now I want to create a page. So I remove all the html in the page except the
page directive at the top and replace with a asp:content

This is probably a really stupid question, but what exactly is the <%@
Page %directive? I thought I knew the answer to this, but now I'm not
so sure that I do.
Essentially, what I'd hope to accomplish, is to be able to add new
attributes to the Page element to provide custom functionality. For
example, one of the ASP.NET 2.0 apps that I'm working on has a help
button on most pages. The help button, which is part of the MasterPage,...

Hi All,
I am working with an ASP.NET website with .NET 1.1. I want to increase the
maxRequestLength value for *only* a single page (therefore, I can't set the
new value in machine.config or web.config because doing so would affect
*all* pages). I can't figure out how to do this... is there a page
directive or something I'm not seeing?
Thanks for your help!!

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
