I've got the directory f:\Company\Product set as web shared so it's got a
virtual directory in the default web site on my test server's IIS. If I try
to use Server.MapPath in that site it returns a path within
c:\Inetpub\wwwroot rather than the real path.
Can anyone please tell me why this isn't working?

i've a legacy ASP.NTT code that works fine, but now i'm trying to add new
feature
so i get the files from our source safe and put them in "d:\Projects\mySite"
and created a new virtual directory for it and make it point to the project

Site_A is in d:\webs\site_a & uses an Access DB in
d:\webs\site_a\data\db.mdb
Site_A_news is in d:\webs\site_a\site_a_news also requires access to

My IIS Web site has a virtual directory called content mapped to a network
share. If the home directory of the Web site is c:\inetpub\wwwroot and the
virtual directory maps to the network share \\myserver\content,
Server.MapPath is returning c:\inetpub\wwwroot\content rather than

I want to use Server.MapPath function in Global.asax because I want to save
in an application variable the path of my database. Global.asax is in the
root directory of my web folder and database is in database/database.mdb.
Now, if I start my web site from default.aspx in the root folder all is ok,
but if start it with a page in a nested folder Global.asax can't find the
folder because Server.MapPath use the relative path of nested folder...

correctly, the physical path to the directory my page is in (d:\....
\...\htdocs).
If I run Server.MapPath("/") on my intranet server, my localhost, I
get c:\inetpub\wwwroot, but my webpages are NOT in this folder, they
are in c:\webtest.
