Hello,
we are having problems displaying non-aspx files (images, style
sheets) since we have upgraded to the 1.1 framework when using a
cookieless session (sessionID in the url).
Check out our file system set up below. Now, in an aspx page, we set
as the "src" of our images something like "../images/animage.jpg". If
the current actual url in the browser is something like
http://server/webapp/(someSessionID)/forms/form1.aspx

When you call FormsAuthentication.SignOut(), is the FormsAuthentication
cookie supposed to be destroyed automatically?
I'm creating my FormsAuthentication cookie by doing:
HttpCookie oCookie = new HttpCookie(FormsAuthentication.FormsCookieName,
sTicket);
where sTicket is an encrypted FormsAuthenticationTicket. When I create the
FormsAuthenticationTicket, I set its isPersistent property to false.

I experimented/researched cookieless sessions and tried it on my website.
I expected the switch to cookieless sessions to be transparent but this isn'
t the case at all:
1) Forms based authentication doesn't work
I read that the Whidbey release will support this and you can make it work
today:
http://www.codeproject.com/aspnet/cookieless.asp
Still, it's a showstopper for most websites

According to the docs you tell ASP.NET to use cookieless sessions by setting
a value in the config.web file.
However, what if I wanted to determine at run time whether or not I wanted
to use cookieless sessions for a particular user, and if so, I'd instruct
ASP.NET to turn on cookieless sessions for a particular user session. Is
this possible?
For example I want to use cookie based sessions by default for all users.
But if a user has...

I setup FormsAuthentication on a couple websites where it has been working
as expected for a long time. I used this code to setup the same type of
authentication on a new website I am working on and the Cookie Name is not
getting setup the same way.
In my Web.config file, I use the following basic settings on both the old
and new websites:
<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms name="SiteAuth" loginUrl="Logon.aspx" protection="All"

Is cookieless forms authentication supported in asp.net 1.0? I have a
website that must be cookieless, and thought that it would be a no
brainer to add forms authentication. Logging in to the site is OK, but
when the session expires and I call FormsAuthentication.signout() in
the Session_End sub, the new session that begins on the next page
refresh has the same ID as the old session ID, and I am not redirected
to the login page (can still...

I'm building an ASPNET2 website which uses forms authentication but does not use the Microsoft-supplied membership providers (mostly
because I don't want to create my own provider at this point, and the supplied stuff comes with a lot of baggage I don't want/need).
In ASPNET1.1 what I would do was something like the following, after authenticating the user on the login form:
FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie(userInfo.UserID, false);

<authentication mode="Forms">
<forms loginUrl="Login.aspx"
protection="All"
timeout="30"
cookieless="AutoDetect" />
</authentication>
Over here we can specify cookiless to be auto detect so it uses cookies
if the client supports it or URL mangling(munging) if it doesnt.

Hi.
I am working on an ASP.NET application and would like to support cookieless
forms authentication. Now there is a FormsAuthentication.SetAuthCookie
which, as I can see using reflector, takes into account the cookieless
status and sets the ticket either in a cookie or the URL. I want to store
some user data in the ticket, but the SetAuthCookie does not have a
parameter for custom data. What should I do?
From looking at this, it...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
