I once post an article on such a menu. it works against XML but you can

I always heard the term "data/database driven programming" model in ASP database, SQL programming, and web programming circles. But I don't quite sure what does it mean? Does it mean the web software's responds are based on data request from the user? Just like in Windows, we call it "event-driven programming" model because the windows program's responds based on user's responses? That's why we call "data driven programming" ?? Please...

I want to create a web site with the page content being driven by my sql database. This would form the basis of a simple content management system. i.e. a particular page may be accessed by the url www.xyz.com/default.aspx?pageid=34 I can achieve this when each page is identical - e.g. contains my custom text/html control. The bit I am having problems with is:

Hello I am new to PHP and I am reading the book Build you own database driven website using PHP and MySQL. I am trying something on my own as an exercise from the book. I sucessfully created a dropdown menu (using the <select><option> tags). I am pleased to see that it worked well. Now all I want is to display another field from the same record selected by the user from the list. I am sure it's simple. So the idea is that I have 20 bible...

Access Database-driven ASP page with embedded RSS feeds Hi, I know very little about web development in general - just some basic html scripting, CSS and a bit of XML. I've inherited a public sector site that is huge, almost entirely database driven and written almost exclusively in ASP. There are news, bulletin, events and publications pages which all key off Access databases. I need to associate RSS feeds with these pages, so...

I've installed MySQL, PHP and Apache on my machine. I'm a beginner and I really don't understand how to proceed. My biggest problem is how to connect to the database on remote mysql server ? Does php allow this kind of thing ? I'm interested in a web interface on my machine...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
