Hi,
I am currently writing a news admin system. I would like to add the
ability to add images to each article.
What I have always done in the past is uploaded (using a form) the
image to a folder on the server and then in the database table that I
INSERT the news article, I'll store the path of the uploaded image.
To me this seems a bad idea as if the image paths were changed on the

Hi Group,
Are there any examples of class for storing fixed width number strings
such as phone number and social security numbers.
This class would do thing like valid that the number is all integers
or hex and confirm that the number is the correct length. I
f the number is to short return an error or not store the number, etc.

What is the best way for that?
I store all Data in the original form in the Database. To prevent output
fields (especially the fields everyone can use) to do bad things like
killing the page-design or even worse attacking my site with javascript
directives i use stuff like
(WebControls.Label)Output.Text = HttpUtility.HtmlEncode(userDefinedData);
and my own functions which allow Line-Breaks and handle links.
But that way seems not to be...

I have a C# application that builds dynamic HTML and renders it. Because it
is rendered in this way, the input controls are not server controls. I write
the entire page, which has a variable number of detail lines for an order. I
want the user to be able to change values on these detail lines and hit an
'update' button. I know how to do this in Javascript, but I'd like to be
able to inspect the controls that come back to my C# program...

Here's my issue. We've decided to replace a very critical (without it
the business would lose lots of money) departmental reporting system
with a built from scratch system based on .NET. The key component is a
datagrid (it really turned the CIO's head).
The issue is that the data source is Oracle. We've got a very complex
reporting system that produces dynamic sql and sends it to oracle and
takes back the result set and displays it. ...

I have developed an application, for psyc patients.... they type in
very personal information in a web form to help them work through
problems in their lives. Once they enter the info, I encrypt the data
and store it in a MySQL database. Users can then print, edit, delete
or share the information they entered with their therapist. I'm not
happy storing this in the database for two reasons: (1) my host places
restrictions on my database...

Hi,
I have a question regarding best practices in database design. In a
relational database, is it wise/necessary to sometimes create tables
that are not related to other tables through a foreign Key
relationship or does this always indicate some sort of underlying
design flaw. Something that requires a re evaluation of the problem
domain?
The reason I ask is because in our application, the user can perform x

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
