Linkbutton submits the form but OnClick event does not get fired

This is very weird - linkbutton submits the form, but the
event handler is not being called:

<asp:linkbutt on Runat=server CssClass=Normal A
OnClick=btnTest _Click>Test</asp:linkbutton>

protected void btnTest_Click(o bject sender,
System.EventArg s e)
{
Response.Write ("Test");
}

I can't figure out why...

Thanks,

-Stan

Hi Stan,

I have tested this issue on my side but I cannot reproduce the problem.
Please try the following testing steps on your side. ( I am using VS.NET
2003/WinXP SP1/IE 6.0 SP1)

1. Create a default C# Web application.

2. Drag a LinkButton control to the Webform1.aspx. The following is the
HTML code.

<asp:LinkButt on id="LinkButton1 " style="Z-INDEX: 104; LEFT: 232px;
POSITION: absolute; TOP: 160px"
runat="server" Width="88px" Height="24px">L inkButton</asp:LinkButton>

3. Double click the LinkButton to add the event handler in the
WebForm1.aspx.c s file.

private void LinkButton1_Cli ck(object sender, System.EventArg s e)
{
Response.Write ("Test");
}

4. Build and test this issue.

If I have misunderstood your concern, please feel f

I'm using a LinkButton to call some code, then do a redirect. The code does some queries, sends some emails, and takes a few moments before the redirect is performed. I'd like to disable my LinkButton during this period to prevent multiple submissions. (Obviously) the disabling should be done at the client side to prevent any delay. I've tried adding some javascript to LinkButton.Attributes: LinkButton1.Attributes.Add("onclick",...

I have a simple linkbutton and a function when it's clicked. It works perfectly in a regular .aspx page. However, when I place it inside the ContentPlaceHolder, it no longer works. It does *something*, but certainly not the function, which is also in the ContentPlaceHolder. This is also true concerning any events in there. Any ideas? Thanks for any help!

Hi, I have an image in my HTML form which has onclick() handler. There is also a submit button and a text box. Whenever text box has focus and user presses enter, the onclick() event of image is fired with event.keyCode as undefined. I was expecting that the form would get submitted. I tried returning from onclick() handler if keyCode is null, but the

I have two sets of search criteria on my page. They are placed inside two DIV tags made visible/hidden by a client script. In each DIV tag I have a LinkButton that performs the search from each set. By using AJAX I get the resulting list expand and collapse without page reload. All work smoothly. But one user today complained that the submit behaviour doesn't work like before.

I have a website that allows the user to generate a new quote. When they are finished creating the quote, it brings them to the final page (called the Goodbye.aspx page) which just states the quote has been submitted and an email will arrive to them shortly. I added a "Home" link button on this page which will return them to the website's home page. I want to clear out 10 session variables (contact name, ship to address, city, state,...

I have a .NET 2.0 MDI application where the child form has a Tab Control. Each of the Tab in the Tab Control has a Validating event to handle what it should do when the user changes tabs. But these Validating Events are also fired when either the child form or the main (parent) form Close icon is clicked. And I need for these events to know if they are being invoked because the app (or child window) is being closed. I have set a boolean...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
