Dynamic server controls and positioning

Hello Guys,

I am rendering the server controls dynamically using XSLT
but having tough time positioning them on the web form the
place where I want them to be.

To be precise, I have two image buttons generated
dynamically, even though I arranged them in two different
cells in my XSLT but still they appear side by side.

I am using my placeholder to place the XSLT output on the
webform. I tried using a Panel and adding the image
buttons but to no avail.

Any pointers would be highly appreciated!

TIA

I don't quite understand what you are trying to do. Could you please
explain in greater details?

Cells on the same row are aligned side by side, so it makes sense that
you image buttons showed up side by side.

If you want to set absolute position to the image buttons, you can do
it with the "style" attribute.

For example,

<img style="LEFT: 200px; POSITION: absolute; TOP: 100px"/>

Hi All I have been trying to add a control to the header cell of a datagrid on my ASP.NET page. These controls are defined in the HTML as ASP.NET web controls. They are being added into the header of the datagrid in the "ItemDataBound" method of the grid. However, once, they are added in the grid, i seem to lose the event handler for the same control. Is there anyone who has tried this before and knows why this is hapenning ??

HELP! Its taken me ages - I'm a newbie and I've compiled bits of code that I've read in this newsgroup over time to create one of my most intricate functions to date... Basically, the script gets called with a single arguement (full path to an image). The image is supposed to be downloaded to the cache, and when complete, a new window opened that is slightly larger insize then the images dimensions... The new window will contain the...

Hi I would like to add controls to my page at runtime. What containers can I use to host the controls? I know I can add them to the form controls collection, but I need to have control on where they are placed. For example I would like a page header and footer, menu on the left, text on the right and an area in the middle where I can add the controls, with the area sizing dynamically. Hope you can suggest some options.

Hello, Thanks for your reply. I understand that a control can be created dynamically in several ways: 1) using StringBuilder 2) using Controls.Add 3) using ASP PlaceHolder But this is just for the controls and not for the form itself. What I am trying to achieve is to create an entire form (including controls)

Hello, all. We're building a Web app where we can have any number of questions, which can contain any type of form element -- check boxes, text fields, radio buttons, dropdowns, etc. We'd like to build an admin page so someone can create the questions and store them on SQL Server. The responses from those questions need to then be stored on the database. Is this possible or is it just a pipe dream? If possible, is it so complicated that...

Hi I have 2 data grids and several controls on a web page. The grids will vary in size, just wondering if the lower grid could be covered by part of the upper grid depending on its size or is there a way to dynamically shift the lower grid so it appears just below the upper grid? Thanks. -- Paul G Software engineer.

I've created a ASP.NET control that displays a "book" of schedules. It dynamically displays scheduling times and allows the user to page through the schedules. It also lets the user edit the schedule times if the user has permissions to edit schedules. When the user is not editing, or the user is not allowed to edit, the buttons that let the user edit are not displayed. If the user is allowed to edit schedules but they are not editing a link...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
