SOURCE=c:\inetp ub\wwwroot\clie nts\newvip\data base\vip.mdb;" />

2. One which does not work-
<add key="NEWVIP" value="PROVIDER =Microsoft.Jet. OLEDB.4.0;DATA

Thanks for your help.

The aspnet account under which asp.net application is run has not enough
privileges to access the file share.
You will have to run your asp.net application under domain account that has
access to file share.
You might create an account with same name/password on both computers or use
a domain account.

Hello, I converted an Access application that used to have a MDE front-end (distributed to each user) with a MDB back-end on a share. It now has a MDE front-end with linked ODBC SQL Server 2000 tables as the back-end. Is it a bad practice to place the MDE front-end on a network share instead of sending a copy to each user? I want to do this as a form of cheap security, since the network share has access control on it. Previously, the...

Hello, I've asked this question in the languages.vb group, but got no response, so I'll try my luck here. My app needs to copy a file from a local folder to a network share. The network share is accessible via a domain ID, which has all possible folder rights assigned to it. The domain ID also has full rights to the local folder. I am using the impersonation code from here ...

I have to copy files from one network share folder to another (both are on different remote machines). Server running this asp.net appllication is not configurable (except web.config), while network forlers requires passwords. The ideal solution would allow me to simply write File.Copy (from, to, true). I thought of two possibilities: either map a network folder inside the asp.net application or connect to the server that contail...

Hi guys Okay, I've setup my projects to open and compile fine in VS2005 using FPSE and remote web, but it's *really* slow. So I thought I'd have a go at doing it the normal way, by loading from the network share. It loads in VS2005 fine, and I can edit and save code changes etc, but when I try and Build the solution, I get the following error... An error occured loading a configuration file: Failed to start monitoring

We're in the process of writing a new Windows Forms app and the desktop support folks want for it to be run from a network share. I know it's possible (i.e., just have the framework on the clients and a desktop shortcut to the exe out on the network)... but is it really a good idea? What are some arguments for and against running a .NET Windows Forms client from a network share? Here is my initial list... I'd appreciate any additions,...

Hello, I have a question. We have a webserver in a domain, DomainA, and a webserver in a DMZ with local users and groups only. I'm trying to copy a file from the DomainA webserver to the DMZ webserver. Het firewall is configured to allow traffic via NetBIOS by ip-address. File copy takes place in a .NET assembly. Problem is described as follows: when copying I get an error 'access denied'

Hi, We have a legacy asp application that uses a third party component to upload a file and saves it to a secure network share. The code sets the credentials for the secure network share on the third party component. I want to do something similar from C# code and save a file to the secure network share by setting the credentials to access the network share in code rather than running the C# code under the user account that has access...

Hi all. I'm new here but hoping I can get some help for my problem. My situation is that I need to upload files through a C# .NET web application to a file server. I done a search and followed some advice on how to set it up. My environment is Windows 2003 file server, Windows 2000 web service (IIS) and .NET v1.1.4. So far I've done this. Windows 2003 file server: Created an account SHAREUSER. Created a share MEDIA. SHAREUSER is...

Hi All, I want to access a folder shared across network which contains very important files and My ASP.NET application is deployed on DMZ and files are shared in other network. Currently assuming files and application on the same network, we have given a ready only access to a specific user and we are impersonating (using win32 APIs) with this user before reading this file from network share. After reading file we are again undoing...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
