I'm using the AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies()
method to obtain a list of currently loaded assemblies.
This returns the expected assembly name and version
values.
However, if I make a webservice call and then call
AppDomain.CurrentDomain.GetAssemblies() it returns an
additional assembly name, with gibberish values such
as "udmsmlb1", "janolvnq", etc. and always a version
number "0.0.0.0".

Hello,
I'm consuming webservice which returns a large dataset.
- 1st step was a synchronous call.
- 2nd step was making it asynchronous with this method
(http://www.xamlon.com/kb/Article.aspx?id=10157)
My problem is that the Callback is fired only at the end of the dataset
transfer, and i have no way to know the progress of the transfer.

I want to use WebServer to receive a DataSet from Client with internet.
The DataSet is some bigger, there are 50 fields and about 50000 rows in it.
Is it OK to do so? Will DotFrameWork or IIS compress the tream when
transferring?

Hi,
I don't know if this is a stupid question, but I observe that my webservice
is created for each call to a webmethod. More precisely an instance of the
webservice class is created for each call. This makes the
InitializeComponent() method run for each method call and seems to really
slow things down. Can I keep the webservice object running after a method
call?

What is the best way to pass data to a web service.
The client(to send data) has .net environment and also the server on which
the web service is hosted also has the .net environment.
Should I send dataset or an xml which will be created at the client and
parsed at the server, in the web service.
Which will have a better performance.
Thanks,

Datasets in Whidbey (Beta 2) contain a namespace property suggesting
that it is possible to web enable them.
However, it seems very difficult to do this. Take the following
scenario
3 projects in a solution
WidgetWindows (a windows application)
WidgetLibrary (a project containing datasets)

It's been recommended to me to use a webservice and XML for the data
manipulation layer for web applications in .NET 1.1. I was thinking I
could use the web service to extend the database interface to a Smart
Phone/Treo solution eventually.
I would like to create our apps in the most current development
environment but, do I abandon the webservice-->Dataset--> XML
-->Http-->XML --> dataset -->gridview methodology? Is there a better...

webservices using ADO.NEt Datasets.
Returned dataset is Gzip compressed and is then decompressed on the
receiving side.
Every thing works good, the problem is that it takes a lot of time for the

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
