ASP LinkButton and DataGrid only work on smaller DataSets

Hi:

I am writing an ASP webpage that is supposed to export data from a
DataGrid to Excel.
I have a link Button on the page that is supposed to Redirect to the
page that load the data.
Now on smaller datasets this works fine, but as the data count gets
larger, a white page is displayed.

Smartnavoigatio n is off. Page and WebConfig, and there is no code
turning it on. There are no Validation controls( you might notice I
have reserched this a little)

I noticed that as I debug the linkbutton command does not fire for the
large set but works on the smaller ones.

Server runs W2000 Advanced, Framework 1.1

This makes no sence to me unless the client runs out of resources.
Can anyone be so kind to confirm this, or give me any suggestion on
how to solve this?

Many thanks in advance,

Andreas

Hi,

From my experience white pages are side product of problem occurring on
the page code while postbabk happened. Check on your server side page if
the form_onload happened (response.write ("") , response.End() ).

This is very interesting - and odd. I have a number of LinkButtons that are created in a custom data grid that I created. The purpose of the LinkButtons is to provide alphabetical filtering functionality on the grid. Therefore, a LinkButton is added for every letter of the alphabet. I also have a numeric filter button and an "All" button that removes the filter. All of the LinkButtons are wired up to the same event called...

Hi Folks, Suppose I have two link button on a page (say lnkBtn1 and lnkBtn2). On the click event of the lnkbtn1 I have to add a dynamically created control. Here is how I designed. I used placeholder to add the controls dynamically to the page on the click...

I have added the linkbutton control in my datagrid and it rendered perfectly but whenever i clicked the linkbutton am getting this error 'event' is null or not an object.

I need to know when a link buttons value is zero so I don't try to run a query to find none. When I was using ViewState(ds_Last), which I can't do because certain phones are choking on the data, I have on avg about 12 rows of data. Apparently that's way too much data for some phones, nearing 30k. So I've abondoned ViewState and I'm trying to get the value from the datagrid, I see that it can be done but I may be missing something...

What I am doing here should be obvious. I have a datagrid that displays data properly. I want to create a linkbutton within each row of the datagrid that toggles a label control in the same row visible/invisible. Please refer to the following GUI and Codebehind: <body> <form id="form1" runat="server"> <cc1:ToolkitScriptManager ID="ToolkitScriptManager1" runat="server"> </cc1:ToolkitScriptManager> ...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
