Calendar child not working in a custom composite control

I made a Custom composite web control that incorporates a
menu with buttons and an encapsulating table cell for the
child controls that are within the custom control's tags
in the HTML. All the controls that are between the
opening and closing tags of my custom control work except
for the calendar. You can select the date for the
current month and all works fine. It returns the next
page with the correct date highlighted but if you change
months forward or back then select a date, the returned
page shows the current month (as in this month) with no
date selected. I have not programmed against this
calendar yet other than declaring it in the code behind
page so it can't be that. All the ASP.NET rendered HTML
and script for the calendar looks good. The
INamingContaine r is implemented for my custom control
class. I can't figure this one out. Anyone else had
this problem?? Any suggestions??

Thanks in advance.

I have a UserControl that contains a calendar control. The calendar is not raising events (month navigation, date selections, etc.). I've checked that the OnSelectionChanged event has a handler being registered. Is there anything else obvious or otherwise that I've missed? Is there a problem using it in a UserControl? Thanks Colin

Hello, I have a composite WebControl that I'm dynamically instantiating at runtime using Reflection. When I create a new instance of my control I immediately iterate through it's child control collection (it has about 4 child controls). The problem is none of these controls are loaded or accessible when I create the instance since, I believe, they are created by the server at a later point in time. How could I force my composite control...

Hey guys, I am working on a web custom control that basically draws a table (ASP Table) with a few child controls in the cells. I have a command button inside one of these cells. The problem I am running into is that I cannot get the click event of this object handled. I have tried wiring the event with "AddHandler" among other things and that seems not to work neither.

Hi everyone, As subject suggests I'm wondering how is it possible to do so in ASP.NET. The fact is that I'd like to "atomize" an entire series of custom user controls (.ascx and .ascx.vb) to redistribuite them to friends but without having to give away my source code. I'd like to have only one clear, solid dll. Is it possible? Maybe even a similiar way. Thanks to everyone for the attention.

I have a dilemna. Currently I have created a custom calendar webcontrol that a user can select and will dump the date along with some specialized information set in the tooltip. It actually is working great. However I am having the same second thoughts about the control as everyone else because of all the real estate it takes up so I would like to add a button to alternately hide/display the calendar control. The only problem is that if I...

I would like some more information on custom controls, what they can do and things like that, what you would use them for etc... Can anyone here share some examples of what you have used a custom control for and possibly email a zip file with that control so I could run it in a program to see how it worked? to pts4560 <atyahoo.com ? thanks.

I am trying to create a custom container control that will only ever contain a specific type of control. At design time, when a control of a different type is added to the container I would like to wrap the control in the proper control type - which is also a container. At design time I want to be able to turn this : <my:container> <asp:textbox />

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...
