Very slow to compile 1st time an .aspx page when connected to networtk on domain

Hello,

I try to find information related to the performance problem we encountered on
this newgroups, but I didn't find any solution, whereas it seems that we are
not the only one who met this problem described below:

Configuratrion IIS5 locally instally on each developper platform W2K
VS.net 2003

if we create a single .aspx page and we launch this page from IE, it took
1-2 minutes for the JIT to compile (too long) if we are connected to our
intranet (domain and not workgroup).

if we disconnect the network cable from the network, it took 10-15 seconds to
compile.
thbe same way, if we uncheck "client windows" on our "intranet connection",
the compilation took only 10-15 seconds.

but if we are connected to our intranet, it took 2 minutes to compile.

I found on microsoft site that there was a problem before .net framework SP2
when accessing on a domain; but we have VS.net 1.1 (v1.1.4322.573) so i think
that we have already this SP2 (released in august 2002).

Have any idea ?
Thank you in advance.

I am writing some kind of network testing tool and I have wrote the following code in ASP.NET with C# int size= 10048576; // around 10 MB data string buffer = ""; for (int j=1; j<=1024; j++) { buffer = String.Concat(buffer, "x"); // I tried buffer += "x"; same performance }

Over the past week, I've been noticing that any websites (on this one particular web server) built with ASP.NET have unusually slow (5 second) response times when moving through the site. There are times when the delays dissappear, but they are existent 80% of the time. This has only started up over the past week or so and I have checked CPU usage, memory usage, etc. I've also reinstalled the 1.1 version of the .NET framework just to...

I've been having this problem for a few weeks. PLEASE read this post before responding with some simple reason that has nothing to do with my problem. If you need more information, please request it as I'll be checking this post very often. PROBLEM: Occaisionally, our web server begins running ASP.NET pages extremely slowly. Other websites on the server run fine, including ASP pages. It almost seems as if the .NET caching system...

Running VS.NET 2003 Enterprise Arch on WinXP Pro SP1 with a P4-2.4Ghz, 760MB+ RAM, and 10+GB free disk space. Laptop is part of a domain. When working on a web project connected at the office, VS.NET enters into debug mode (compiling, firing off a browser, and starting the debugger) just fine. However, when the machine is disconnected, or I'm working off a wireless network @ home (WiFi) or working off a wired connection @ home (all...

Alright, folks, here's the deal... I'm working on migrating a classic ASP website to an ASP.NET codebase. At the heart of the site is a MySQL database. To make sure an "in-process" program doesn't screw up the live site, I run a local IIS webserver on my XP Pro (AMD XP 2500+, 512MB DDR RAM) machine, which resides behind an XP ICS gateway on my LAN. I also have a MySQL server set up locally for development purposes.

Hopefully someone else has seen something similar. We are experiencing an odd problem with aspnet, iis6 and w2k3. I have written a small site which works fine during the day. Each morning however the initial page load can take anything from 10 minutes to over an hour. Nothing seems to occur during this time. The first page load is simply incredibly slow. It seems to 'hang' until someone else tried to load the default.aspx, though there...

Okay, here is what's happening: I have a reasonably fast laptop (1.4 GHz Mobile M, so comparable to 2.5GHz P4) doing .net development. Running Windows XP pro, SP2 IIS is installed and running fine All SQL Servers I am referring to share a small (10 computers or so) LAN with a 100MB Switch. No other computers on the LAN exhibit this problem.

Hi, I spend most time works on Windows form application and VS 2008 runs at a acceptable speed. While I edit aspx file, especially change to Designer View, it seems very slow. Some time even very slow while in Markup view, maybe it is doing some backup compiling and sycn.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
