Help!
I've referenced a dll that resides on another server in my
web project. When I instantiate it (new keyword), I get
a "System.IO.FileNotFoundException: The specified module
could not be found." error message.
I think this must be a access/permissions problem, but I'm
not sure how to fix it. I've used dcomcnfg and altered the
security settings for the dll there, but that hasn't

Hi,
I have created a VB.Net windows service. Everything was working fine
until I attempted to add a setup project. Now, for some strange, when
I try and run the application (using INSTALLUTIL to install/uninstall
it) I get the error:
(53) The specified module could not be found
When I debug the code, this error is thrown when the following code

I'm getting killed by this error message on TWO different machines at a
client's site. Not just one machine, TWO. The web app is written in 2.0,
and the install package has been confirmed to work on a test machine. Any
ideas? The exception is thrown after my web app has begun initialization.
The details:
Event Type: Error
Event Source: XXXXXX

I have a dll that is used to implement the web service class in the bin
directory. the dll references othere dll's that if finds using the path
directory. If the file can only be found through a mapped drive in the path
variable then the error "Specified Module could not be found" is given. If
the file can be found by a path that is not mapped such as "C:\dir1" then
there is no error. The mapped drive can point to a locally shared path...

I am really eager to quit the Microsoft world and get into LAMP. For
the immediate future I can't do the Apache part, so I am at least
trying to get PHP up and running under IIS to learn it.
I used the windows installer .msi to install PHP on a WinXP pro
machine with IIS 5.1.
My current problem is that when I access a test page as in
http://localhost/simple.php I get the message "The specified module
could not be found."

HI,
When i try to run amd debug my project i get following error.
- The specified module could not be found. -
This error is getting thrown on Application.Run(new Main())
From what it looks like it can not find some DLL that i have referenced.
If i create a new project with out those dll's everything works fine, but as
soon as i add them and start using them i get the same error.

I have a remoting application that was developed on a Windows XP SP2 machine
with VS2005 SP1. I finally got everything deployed using Wix 3.0, and it
works great. Problem is, when I install the msi on a W23 server SP2, I get
the following error:
System.Runtime.Remoting.RemotingException: Remoting configuration failed
with the exception 'System.Reflection.TargetInvocationException: Exception
has been thrown by the target of an invocation....

Hello all,
I'm having some problems understanding how the runtime locates
assemblies, and I hope you can help me shed some light on it.
I'm deploying a web service, which uses some 3rd party dll
(FelibFilterLib.dll). The problem is as follows:
1) The webservice is xcopied to the server, and the dll in question
(FelibFilterLib) is located in the bin directory of the web service

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
