How to Debug a .NET WinForm Control Embeded in Web Pages?

I have a WinForm control embeded in a ASP.NET Web page. When the page
started, the place to hold the control only displays a frame with a "X" at
left-top corner. I don't know if there are some errors in the control. How
can I debug the control?

Thanks!

Hi, I have deployed my winform application on iis server in a virtual directory. On the start of my application, it is reading some information from the config file (app.config). When i am running this application by typing the URL of the virtual directory (and name of my application), the assemblies are getting downloaded to my machine's GAC but the application is giving error that cannot find the configuration file. Does anyone know a way to create a winform window that has similiar functionality to the 'Output' window in VS .Net - i.e. that basically acts like a console window but is proper MDI child of the main winform application and does not look like a DOS window :). I have tried using an RTF but that was not particularly great when a lot of information is displayed quickly. I don't want to know how to show a console window using the...

Dear All, We are developing applications in ASP.Net...in one of our applications we would like to use a GridControl...we have tried to use a Server-Side Grid control but found the speed to be an issue...also our clients would like to use a lot of client side events like sorting, searching text, save each row on tab out of a row, use the auto correct feature... after intial r&d we feel that using a Grid Control in WinForms would be a...

I'm trying to creat a little browser executable, I have added the WebControl to my toolbox, and I have a WinForm ready to place the control on, but the control is disabled - what gives? Simple induction tells me that maybe, Webcontrols can only be used on WebForms - but if this is the case, how can I create an executable using a web form? I thought webforms were run on the server side and displayed in a browser?. please advise

I am trying to debug a webservice by steping into a web method called from a windows form project. The strange thing is that sometimes it works but often it does not. When it does not work I get the following error when trying to step into a web method: Unable to automatically step into the server. The remote procedure could not be debugged. This usually indicaes that debugging has not been enabled on the server. See help for...

I have a web service project and a winform project in the same solution. The winform is the default project. When I run the solution, the web service and the winform runs without problems. But the exceptions initiated in the web services are not catched by Visual Studio 2005. The only way to do that is run the web service project as the default project and call the winform compiled version. It's a terrible wast of time. How debug this...

Hi, In my current project, I need to embed an .NET winform usercontrol in the aspx page (via <Objecttag). This winform usercontrol has an event called DoEvent (void DoEvent()). This winform usercontrol will fire this event upon certain action by the user. I tried to let the aspx page subscribe to this event via <script for="winObj1" event="DoEvent()" language="javascript"> window.alert("window control event happen!");

I had to repost this becuase I renewed-changed my msdn alias. Also, the asnwer in the other past did not understand what I'm trying to do, so I'll attempt to clarify. I have a .net 2.0 winforms app that calls a web service which creates creates a GUID and caches it, then passes the GUID back to the winform. then it opens a aspx page and passes the GUID as a parameter. this GUID is only cached for about 10 seconds and must be still...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
