Questions regarding CR.NET

Hi Guru,

I am just about to study CR.NET. At the moment, I don't have any clue
about what I could do with it.

So that is why I am asking a few questions here.

First of all, we have .NET. does it include CR.NET license or should we
have to buy CR.NET license seperatly?

Secondly, is it feasible to implement the following scenario?

---------------------------------------------------------
Prior to producing a report, there is a section where user
can specify how user lays out, sort or group the report.

For instance, we have a number of suppliers that supply us
with thier products. And we want to see how many clients
have purchased each supplier's product.
The admin might want to see a time based report (show me from blah to
blah sort by supplier name) or see a supplier's name based report.
---------------------------------------------------------

If it is feasible, do I have to use ve.net web controls to create the
user interface where you can specify the report lay out or CR.NET?
Thirdly, is there any good book or website that I could reference?
Thanks a lot in advance,

Hi,

1) i think that CR comes with 5 user licence.

2) Its possible, We are doing it by using pre ASPX page that let the
user select.

3) I add link to usefull on line book :

Thanks a lot Natty,

but it would be great if you wouldn't mind a couple of questions.

So although we have a .NET license, we still have to buy the CR.NET
license.

I have been trying to use parameters in web-based application in
accordance with the online book you recommended.

But I got an error message "Missing parameter field current value" any
idea?

again thanks a lot Natty

Hi,

1) if you got more then 5 users i guess you need to buy licenses
(upgrade to CR 9.0). refer to :
http://www.crystaldecisions.com/prod...t/licensing.as
p

2) I need sample code in order to help you.

Thanks a lot natty,

It would be appreciated if you wouldn't mind one question.

My scenario is very tricky to explain.
As I said, user(admin) should be able to narrow(by supplier or/and date)
the output displayed in a report.

The ideal solution will be like there is a completely seperate page
where admin can see a list of suppliers and calender. Using this page,
admin might say, ok I would like to see a report that displays a,b,c
suppliers in the period of 2000 - 2003.
Then I might send this values using querystring(vb. net) to the webform
where an actual page will be contructed.
This page will recieve this querystring information and send them to a
stored procedure, get a dataset and display report.

Is it possible?

I really appreciate your help.

Thanks

Yes it's possible.

By the way you can do it all just with ASP.NET. Reports are all about
showing data and ASP.NET can easily supply this need you can use ASP.NET
DataGrid, XML/SLT or HTML generation to create dynamic tables that will
show the data

Hello Experts! I have some questions about inheritance that I want to have an answer to. It says "Abstract superclasses define a behavioral pattern without specifying the implementation" I know that an abstract class doesn't have any implementaion even if a default implementatiion can be supplied for pure virtual methods. What does it actually mean with saying that an Abstract superclasses define a behavioral pattern?

hello ... i am running into a couple of questions regarding materialized view logs. my goal is to take data from an oracle database and replicate it to some remote data store (maybe some other datastore can poll the materialized view log or so). the idea is: if i could simply replicate the changes made to a materialized view it would be perfect. i have come across materialized view logs but i don't really know how to treat them...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
