Server Application Unavailable [Help]

Pat
Running VSNET Ent on XP pro
Framework version 1.1.4322.0

Debugger locked up (I had the machine.config open), I
stopped the process aspnet_wp.exe from the task manager.
I got an error on the page I was working on that didn't
look right, so I closed everything shut down and rebooted.

now ASP.NET doesn't work, Message in the event veiwer
reads:
aspnet_wp.exe could not be started. The error code for
the failure is 80004005. This error can be caused when
the worker process account has insufficient rights to
read the .NET Framework files. Please ensure that
the .NET Framework is correctly installed and that the
ACLs on the installation directory allow access to the
configured account.

I fixed framework 1.1, then removed and reinstalled 1.1
tried running "aspnet_regiis. exe -i" and reregistering
"aspnet_isapi.d ll", tried increasing the permissions the
ASPNET account has on the MS.net framework directory,
tried changing from "Machine" to "System"

any help would be greatly appreciated, considering wiping
VSNET, from the System an reinstalling everything.

All right, I have read every forum, newsgroup etc about this issue and no one seems to know how to fix it. I am getting a "Server Application Unavailable" exception running my .NET 1.1 application. I use W2K SP4 and have applied the hot Fix KB824146 and KB824105, both IE fixes. I don't have VS installed because this is a Quality Environment. I do have .NET SDK and .NET 1.1 Runtime installed. I can't change my APSNET user to run as...

Hello, I've seen bits and pieces of this problem, on the newsgroups, but I haven't been able to get it exactly how it happened to me... I've been using Visual Studio and learning ASP.NET with no problems. IIS is working and everything was just fine. Then my company did some Microsoft updates (I wish I knew exactly which ones) on my machine and now when I try to open any of the pages I built, I

Hello, I would like to create a new web site with VWD, but would like to run it under IIS, not the development server. One reason for this is that I want the web site to be at the domain root, not under a virtual directory. I have tried this, but don't seem to be able to get it to work. I created a new (empty) web site in IIS, and then started a new project in VWD and specified the type as HTTP. I browsed to http://test/ and

Hi, I created an asp.net 2.0 website with VWD and made it an application in IIS. It was created on a ntfs disc (my documents...). The directory permissions are set on 'anonymous allowed' using IUSR_MYSERVER, which has read/list permissions to the apllication directory. When i start it from the browser, i get this error: Server Application Unavailable

Hi All! I have a ASP.NET 2.0 site that works on the Windows 2000 Server. However, when I tried to view this site on my local Windows XP machine, I get "Server Unavailable". If I switch the Windows XP IIS back to ASP.NET 1.1 then I get the Configuration Error (which is understandable because I'm trying to run an ASP.NET 2 site with 1.1 framework). I can however view other ASP.NET 1.1 sites on my local Windows XP machine. It's only the...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies.
