I tested a FE/BE application developed in A2000 on a A2002 machine and got
this message when exiting the app. Clicking the only available button "OK",
exits the application, as intended.
The FE is just the mdb, not an mde. FE and BE are in different directories
on the same machine.
Are there settings, preferably via code, that I can add to stop this error?
Thank you for any help.

I have just started programming .NET having come from ASP.
We used to create a connection and store it in a session. This meant for each
user logging into the site there was only one connection
Now with ASP.NET using the SqlClient libraries this is not possible (No
doubt for good reasons).
So for each page before I need to access the DB I call
objConnect = new SqlConnection(connectionString);

I have an aspnet program that uses an Access database -- I won't go into why
I'm using Access -- and can't get it to run in share mode.
If I have opened the website, and I try to edit the database, I get a
message saying the database is in read only because it's being used
elsewhere. Even if I close the website, close the program, close everything
I can think of, I still get the error. I always have to reboot.
If I add Mode=Share...

Alright, folks, here's the deal...
I'm working on migrating a classic ASP website to an ASP.NET codebase.
At the heart of the site is a MySQL database.
To make sure an "in-process" program doesn't screw up the live site, I
run a local IIS webserver on my XP Pro (AMD XP 2500+, 512MB DDR RAM)
machine, which resides behind an XP ICS gateway on my LAN. I also have a
MySQL server set up locally for development purposes.

Hey people
I'm an experience PHP programmer who's been writing python for a couple of
weeks now. I'm writing quite a large application which I've decided to
break down in to lots of modules (replacement for PHP's include()
statement).
My problem is, in PHP if you open a database connection it's always in
scope for the duration of the script. Even if you use an abstraction layer
($db = DB::connect(...)) you can `global $db` and bring...

Hi,
I'm developing an application using the C language and Python for it's
plugins. The C program connects to a MySQL database and keeps that
connection active. Is it possible to 'share' this connection with the
Python plugins? If so, is there a "standard" way to do that?
Thank you.

Web Solution
Goal: Have a global database connection
Why: (There will be 30+ tables, represented by 30+ classes) I only want to
reference the database connection once.
I put the connection string in the web.config.
I created a class with a static database connection and the class opens and
closes the database.

Hi all,
I am working on portal which is using MS Access 2003 database. The
problem that I am facing is that once I received data from vendors I
have to upload whole Access Database file to server.
Initially it is not an issue but after increasing the size of database
file(nearly to 50 MB) it is now difficult to upload such file on
server.

Hi. I'm writing controls that have to query the database, and it
bothers me that I might have several of these controls on a page that
each create, open, and close their own connection with the same
connection string, and the page class has a connection object too.
I'm using the code-behind way of doing things, and I considered
leaving the database connection open as a field in the page's class
and somehow letting the controls use that...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
