Do you need Framework 1.1 to access Active Directory objects on a Windows 2003 server with ASP.NET?

Some of our developers are having a problem making certain code work
that reads the contents of OUs in our Active Directory. It reads fine
when querying a 2000 domain controller but when accessing a 2003
server, it gets errors ranging from Item not found to "Unable to
access directory services". The second I take the 2003 server offline,
everything works fine again.

I can't really give much code detail since i work on the network side
of things, but I'd like to try and help them out since until they fix
this, my deployment of 2003 is stalled. Right now it's a low priority
item for them and truthfully, we could live for a long time with just
2000 but I really want to get some of the new 2003 features running to
make my job easier, so any help I can give them would be great.

I just had the idea that maybe 2003 is requiring changes made by
framework 1.1 and since all the ASP.NET servers only use 1.0, maybe
that changes the way LDAP queries are done?

I'm only guessing here, but I would think it's the LDAP query and not the
Framework.

I've built a small IT helpdesk ticket system using the .NET 2.0 Beta 2 framework w/VS 2005 Beta 2. This system sits on an IIS 5.0 server, fully patched. The IIS server is set for windows inegrated security only (removed anonymous access) so all users must be domain authenticated. I use the webpage headers in use with security and logging functions (ie: Request.ServerVariables("AUTH_USER")). We also use Exchange 2000 as our email system....

Hi guys, Up until 3 weeks ago I was running a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 R2 Enterprise Edition Beta from home on an ADSL connection with dynamic IP absolutely fine - until the beta decided to expire. I have since upgraded to a valid licensed copy but because the "upgrade" option wasn't given to me I had to do a clean install - so format and re-install my hard disk. Fortunately, I was clever and stored all my vitals - mailbox database,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
