Textbox and button -- enter key/submit - REFERENCE

Hi, as you can see from my many posts the past few days, I have
certainly been confused about the firing/non-firing of my textboxes
and buttons. In addition to the explanations I've received from this
group, I also came across a pretty good explanation of "Using the
Enter key to submit a form" which describes the events created by the
asp controls in html, etc. For anyone interested, here it is:

http://www.allasp.net/enterkey.aspx

Thanks again for all those helping those of us who are "asp control
challenged"!

I am finding some odd behavior. When clicking in a textbox, I find that the focus is resorting to a different button on my web page, not to the textbox.. I would like the focus to remain on the textbox so that if the user presses enter it will cause the textbox text changed event handler to fire. I have been able to set up the text box to fire the event handler for the textbox when clicking outside of the textbox, but if the user decides...

I noticed that after entering text into a textbox on an asp.net webform and then hitting the enter key that a postback appears to be performed. 1) what event can I write to in order to perform an action at that time? 2) How can I prevent any postback from happening on textboxes that I do not want to handle this event on? any info is appreciated. Thanks.

The user can type search text in SearchTextBox and click SearchButton and the web server performs a database query and displays the results. All of this works fine. I want the user to be able to press the Enter key while the cursor is still in SearchTextBox and have the SearchButton.Click event fire (thus performing...

Let me preface this with the goal I'm trying to achieve is mimic a feature of another language (Dexterity used by Microsoft Dynamics) and so while a filling a drop down list is a workable solution I'd rather do it like Microsoft Dynamics does and use separate textbox and lookup button. What I have is, simply, is a C# winform, a textbox and a pushbutton. On the textbox, on the validating event of the textbox I check my customer table...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it. First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
