I think that everyone who told me that my question is irrelevant,
in particular Mr. David White,
is being absolutely ridiculous. Obviously, most of you up here
behave like the owners of the C++ language. A C++ interface
installation IS ABOUT THE C++ LANGUAGE! The language
does not possess the ability to handle even simple file directory
manipulation.
Those wise people that created it did not take care of it. So, BOOST
is a portable...

Hi all,
Im attempting to use a COM class in C# via .NET interop. The class has two
modes - synhrounous and asynchronous. The mode is determined by the use (or
not) of an optional out parameter:
COMClass test = new COMClass();
object results = null;

I am accessing my database through an interface, to allow future
substitution of the physical datastore - hence I would like to declare in my
Interface that my DAL-objects implementing the interface and accessing the
datastore MUST pass in a UserToken in the constructor of the object.
Is this not possible?
Am I forced to add the UserToken as a property on the object instead?
/Ole

I'm still trying to figure out concrete reasons to use one over the other.
I understand the abstract class can have implementation in its methods and
derived classes can only inherit one abstract class. The interface has
implied abstract methods/properties and derived classes can inherit multiple
interfaces. The interface properties/methods have no implementation.
Besides definitions of the two, what are some conceptual reasons to use...

We have an application completely written in C++ under visual studio v6. One
of our customers wants to use some of our existing components in his project
but doesn't know C++ and isn't interested in learning it. He does know C#
and VB though.
Whats the best option for us (ie. minimum work) to provide him with an API
that he can use in his own applications to access our C++ classes? I was
originally considering a COM interface, but...

Introduction
Usability and relevance have been identified as the major factors
preventing mass adoption of
Business Intelligence applications. What we have today are traditional
BI tools that don't work
nearly as well as they should, even for analysts and power users. The
reason they haven't
reached the masses is because most of the tools are so difficult to use
and reveal so little

· What is view state and use of it?
The current property settings of an ASP.NET page and those of any
ASP.NET server controls contained within the page. ASP.NET can detect
when a form is requested for the first time versus when the form is
posted (sent to the server), which allows you to program accordingly.
· What are user controls and custom controls?
Custom controls:
A control authored by a user or a third-party software vendor that...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
