How to transfer user between web-sites

I'm trying to send a user in my website to another page but on a
different virtual directory. So I can't use session variables. How can I
transfer data with the user...?

Your best bet is probably to put it in the querystring.

(e.g.
Response.Redire ct(http://www.newsite.com/newpage.aspx?...02343&username
=joe) )

and then access the variables from the new page.

(e.g. Request.Queryst ring("userid") )

Hello, We have two applications that will reside on the same webserver. We want to be able to post from pages in App1 to to pages in App2. We need to pass sensible data, so we cannot use querystring. We are using server.transfer (needing to reference App2 in App1).

I've got an page (LOGIN.ASPX) that receives the user's login information. During the page load, it checks the credentials against a database and, if validation is successful, creates an instance of an object that stores the user's basic profile data (username, user type, associated sales region, etc.). I've been taking this user info and...

hi there, my app needs to retrieve a value from a previously viewed page. The user moves between pages on the site with the server.transfer method doing the legwork. This works fine.
