I just started to develop an ASP.NET application in vs.net 2003 . But each
time I try to execute the application (which is basically empty so far), I
get a dialog box titled "Microsoft Development Environment" with this
message:
"Error while trying to run project: Unable to start debugging on the web
server. Server-side error occurred on sending debug HTTP request.
Make sure the server is operating correctly. Verify there are no...

hi all
I use a custom windows principal to the httpcontext.current.user in a
windows authenitcation asp.net app. There are other objects added to the
principal. during the
WindowsAuthentication_OnAuthenticate() call, the principal will be load
rights for the current user alone with the roles. now I wonder if the USER
object be encrypted and send to the client?

I am doing development work on an asp.net app and a web service on a Win XP
Pro SP2 development workstation, using vs.net 2003. For reasons that I
wont try to explain here, I recently moved the application files from
/inetpub/wwwrooot to a directory within "my documents", and I changed the
home directory within IIS accordingly.
However, now when I try to open a new Web Service project in vs.net, I get a
dialog box with this error: ...

For some unexplained reason, I am suddenly unable to browse to a virtual
directory on my laptop. I have a number of sample websites to which I could
happliy browse up until last week. As of Monday, if I browse to any of the
sites, I get an HttpException saying "The directory does not exist or is not
accessible because of security settings." I honestly have not changed
anything at all.
I have checked and re-checked that ASPNET indeed has...

I am setting the HttpContext.Current.User in the
Application_AuthenticateRequest event in global.asax.cs. When I use the
IsInRole function in a web page, it works fine. So far so good. (Note that
Integrated security is used and anonymous is turned off.)
This app will actually work as a child app for an Intranet app so when I
remove the application designation in IIS for the child app folder,
IsInRole is always null, which is not good. I...

Hi
When I set Session state mode to StateServer (IIS 6.0; windows2003; .NET

Unable to serialize the session state. In 'StateServer' and 'SQLServer'
mode, ASP.NET will serialize the session state objects, and as a result
non-serializable objects or MarshalByRef objects are not permitted. The same

We able to generate this error in our test environment and were able to
research this enough to understand that the issue is NOT with an abject that
needs to be serialized but rather as the stack trace suggests that the
server (in the web farm) ran out of memory while attempting to stream data
to an ASP Session State database (SQL Server 2000) .
Our test environment consists of:
- 3 web servers Load Balanced
- SQL Server 2000 Database...

I am using Visual Studio 2005 Professional edition and built in CR version
10.2.3600.0 to create a web application.
The front-end to the report is written in C#. Basically Report.aspx creates
the datasets that the report needs then creates an instance of the strongly
typed report then passes the populated dataset to the report then sets the
report viewer to the report object.
When the application is run, the report is created just...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
