HttpHandler not working :-)

I have a simple HttpHandler
//--
using System.Web;
namespace Acme {
public class SimpleHandler : IHttpHandler {
public void ProcessRequest( HttpContext context) {
context.Respons e.Write("Hello World!");
}

public bool IsReusable {
get {
return true;
}
}
}
}
//--
I add in the web config file (perso/Web.config) this simple lines:
//--
<httpHandlers >
<add verb="*"
path="simple.as px"
type="perso.Fil eService, perso"/>
</httpHandlers>
//--

but when I type ' http://localhost/simple.aspx ' or '
http://localhost/perso/simple.aspx ' I have an error 404.
I know that my HttpHandler is registered because if I put incorrect value in
the config file I get the error page. however I never go into my handler (I
put some call to Trace.Write() in it, to be sure ...)

any tip ? advice ? experience ? whatever ?

Hi all When sending a GET request with MSXML2.XMLHTTP to a HttpHandler on the web-server the case seems to have been stripped down to lower-case. This was working fine under our Windows 2000 server, however it doesnt seem to work under Windows 2003 Web Edition. I've chekc the coding in the script file to see if the case is correct for which it is, however when it reacher the HttpHandler the case has been changed to lowercase thus the...

Hi group, I'm experiencing some extreme weirdness over the last week with IIS related to it's Mappings and how .NET is behaving. I can't explain the behavior as it seems very random. Our app has about 50 file extensions that we map in IIS and handle in our HTTPHandler to catch the reference and then lookup the correct content from a database. In addition, we do some magic in a HTTPModule to rewrite paths for file types we don't...

My company sells software and wants to provide downloadable product. Some of these downloads will be full CD's of over 550M I had everything working fine using Response.filewrite() but when we tested it with large files, it blew up. (crashed the server, well documented problem) I can download a file just fine if I just point to the download file and let IIS generate the download dialog (but with no security, of course)

Hello, We are using a user control and a HttpHandler to display an image in a grid. The images are stored in a RDBMS. Here is the approach that we use in brief. The cells are added to the grid in the page load. One of the cell is the control. The control Response.Writes an img tag. The src for the img tag is "something.img". Now we have a HttpHandler for *.img, the hander reads the image from DB and does a Response.BinaryWrite. Everything...

Im trying to add an httphandler for all *.sgf file extensions. I have developed the handler, 1. installed it into the gac 2. added it to the machine.config: <httpHandlers> <add verb="*" path="*.sgf" type="CustomExtensionHandler, Extenders.CustomExtensionHandler, Version=1.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=d831d925597c1031" validate="True"/> </httpHandlers>

Hi, I have a own HttpHandler running and configured like this in my web.config: <add verb="*" path="subfolder/*.ashx" type="Class,Assembly"/> Now, when turning cookieless Sessions on my HttpHandler is not working, instead my second HttpHandler is invoked, which is configured for *.ashx files.

Hi Guys I have a problem with my httphandler here. I have several httphandler in my application. each of them do the different job. but I found sometimes it really slow down the performance. Is there a way I can specify that one handler can only be used on certain pages? like httphandler A is used on page A,B and httphandler B is only used on Page C, D? Cheers Victor

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
