I am using some methods to do image processing like resampling, etc...
but the color depth is always very low (like 256 colors) and the
resulting images become dithered.
I thought this might be because the server is running at 256 colors on
the console so I increased that to 24-bit but the same problem occurs.
Any ideas?

hi,
I have a problem displaying icons at the right colour depthin a
ListView.
I've made an icon file, (using IconWorkshop 5), it has 3 icons within
it. A 32x32 32bpp XP style icon, a 32x32 32bpp non-xp icon (no
transparency), and a 16x16 version.
I add these icons to an ImageList, which is then assigned to the
LargeImageList property of the ListView.

I'll admit, that I don't do a lot of GDI+ programming and I'm sure this is
an easy answer. I'm trying to draw a couple of shapes in a web site. I can
display them just fine, but on some of the fill colors are pixelated. Is
there a way to render these colors at a better color depth?
Dim bmp As Bitmap
bmp = New Bitmap(200, 200)
Dim g As Graphics
g = Graphics.FromImage(bmp)
g.Clear(Color.White)

Hey guys,
I have limited access to a server and would be a pain to install and configure an image library such as GD or Imagick with PHP.
Is there any other progmatically some-what reliable way to check the bit-depth of a png or jpg image? (e.g. 16-bit, 32-bit, 64-bit)
This of course, means opening up the file and taking a peek inside, but the files look different.
There's no such thing as a bad idea, just untried ones, so fire...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
