I'm trying to use the Const statement to define a group of constants.
I would like different groups of constants, one for each language (such
as english, spanish, etc.)
Depending on a variable (cookie, querystring, etc.) I would like the
constants to be defined differently.
One thing I tried was:

I have an ASP program that is getting an error. When I get the error I
get Page Cannot Be Displayed along with the line that causes the error
and what the error is. What I am not getting is any data that I write
via response.write before the error occurs. The error is happening in a
loop, on the third line below:
RESPONSE.WRITE("x=" & x & ", " & aFieldsData(UpdateRecNum,x) &
"<BR>")
tFLD = trim(aFieldsData(UpdateRecNum,x))
tFLD =...

Can anyone tell me how to turn off the feature that creates the blue
squiggly line under code that has errors? Is that feature called
background compile? I am working on a huge project, and it seems that
the more errors that are found by this feature, the slower Visual
Studio runs.

I'm using MS .Net Version 7, using VB .Net working on a "simple" web page.
All I want to do is display a messagebox. I tried using Messagebox.Show,
and get an error that Messagebox has not been declared. I tried using
MsgBox (like we used in VB 6) but this throws application errors every time
I run it I get the error "It is in valid to show a modal or form when the
application is not running in UserInteractive mode. Specify the...

I've got another drop list problem
I am using the following code where users select a name, but it should
pass a name and email into the table

<option value="<% Response.Write (rsUser("Name")) %>">
<% Response.Write (rsUser("Name")) %>
<input type="hidden" name="Email" value="<% Response.Write

For some reason, the below lines only work on select machines. All
machines are running IE6. IE SP's and OS's vary. When it doesn't
work, default.aspx (the page that this code is in) opens and closes.
That's all you see. TSReminder.aspx doesn't even open. I'm not sure
what's going on here.
Response.Write("<script...

I'm trying to enhance a script to do the following things.
1). detect the first four words of a paragraph and stylize them
(already does that)
2). Capitalize and stylize the first letter of each paragraph (already
does that via style sheet)
3). Count the number of paragraphs (or number of "vbcrlf & vbcrfl") so
I can insert a images in specific places (i.e. I want to dynamically
insert image 1 in paragraph 1, image 2 into para 2, etc.)

Or... when is a script not a script?
I have several modules for managing different aspects of our club's website,
most of which are multi-page.
Does setting such things as server.ScriptTimeout or response.buffer values
at the start of the first page persist throughout the session, or are they
"reset" with each function or sub, etc.?
TIA.

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...
