Writing ASP.NET on IIS6 and publishing to IIS5

Is there any problems with writing on IIS6 with ASP.NET and publishing onto
IIS5 on W2K with ASP.NET? (like xp pro to 2k server) any compatability
problems?

The web server would not present a compatibility issue. However, it wouldn't
hurt to make sure that you're running the same version of the Framework on
both machines. Although that shouldn't present a problem normally, there are
a few instances where it can bite you.

Hi, I'm migrating my website to an IIS 6.0 server and all the asp pages work fine except for the ones that reference include files, even though I have "Enable parent paths" enabled in the App/Options tab. The include files are being called as <!-- #include virtual="../includes/file.inc" --> <!-- #include virtual="../includes/script.asp" --> If I remove the parent path call it works just fine. I

Greets, Part of the content of one of our web pages uses wingdings and Chr(239) through Chr(242) (which are little arrow outlines, though that's not really important.) It worked just fine in Windows 2000 Server, but now under Server 2003 it seems that characters above 127 get converted somehow, and our code no longer produces the desired effect.

I have an ASP.NET 1.1 application that does URL rewriting via a custom HttpModule. We recently migrated this application from Win2k/IIS5 to Win2k3/IIS6. In IIS5, I added a wildcard application map that filtered the verbs I wanted to handle. In IIS6, the wildcard application is added differently and it doesn't allow for verb filtering. How can I do the same sort of filtering in IIS6? Thanks! -Brian

I have an application that communicates with the Company's Active Directory to get the OU of the users. This said application is an ASP.Net web site and has the Windows Authentication enabled. . Now, here's the anomaly: If the application is run on a Server using IIS 5.1, the application works like a charm and the communcation with the Active Directory occurs without any problem.

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
