Title: What are the Consequences of Aspx page separate from app DLL
Hi JL;
I am working on a big asp.net application.
When we migrate the dll (or dlls) to the production server, all users
who are login into the application are pumped off. In fact we must
close down the server (to preserve users from being logged on and
thinking they are updating data when it is in fact lost when we move
the dlls to the the applications bin directory)....

I apologize for using this newsgroup for what seems like a VB6 question, but
I did not see a newsgroup for VB6. I also think I may not have the C# code
setup correctly for calling from VB6. If anyone can please help, I would
greatly appreciate it.
I have a C# DLL, code below that I am trying to call from a VB6 program. I
read an article that said to run RegAsm.exe from the .Net SDK and this would
enable you to reference the C# DLL from...

Hello,
I have a page DoBatchWork.aspx that my web host's
cron requests periodically. It currently calls another
web page that does some batch processing. The code I am
currently using in DoBatchWork.aspx is:
<%@ Page language="c#" EnableViewState="false"
ContentType="text/html" %>
<script language="C#" runat="server">

I am using "Server.Transfer()" to send data to an ASP.NET page that's
sole purpose is to display messages. I am using "Server.Transfer since I
can set the contents of the message I want to display via the properties
of the page that is initiating the Server.Transfer() and also because
large amounts of data can be sent, such as a datagrid or other object.
Here is an example...

Hi
In asp.net 2.0 an aspx files .cs file is a partial class and all works fine,
however,
I thought I’d be able to create another class file, call it a partial class
and have
that compile and load as a 3rd partial class. This would be handy so i can
generate
standard code into one of the partial classes, while having my custom code
untouched

I've got a VB .NET Web application that has several frames (for discussion
sake, let's call them Form1.aspx and Form2.aspx). I want to be able to call
a code module in Form2.aspx.vb from code module in Form1.aspx.vb. How do I
format this statement?
I'm not interested in calling client-side script on Form2.aspx from
Form1.aspx.vb - I want to fire off server-side module in Form2.aspx.vb

Good afternoon,
I have what appears to be a caching issue, but i'm a bit of a newbie at
http headers so it may be something else.
I have a small asp.net 2.0 application that is called to serve up some
SQL Reporting Services reports. The asp pages are running under SSL as
are the pages that call the asp app.
The asp app runs correctly, but the reports cannot be opened or saved.

Here is my situation:
I have an aspx file stored in a resource file. All of the C# code is
written inline via <script runat="server"tags. Let's call this page
B. I also have page A that contains some javascript code that calls
window.open. I pass the resource url of page B to Page A's window.open
call. Page B is then loaded and executed but none of the server-side
code is rendered. If I view the source of the page, the code (and page...

Is there a recommended way for a .ASP page to call a .ASPX page? I've got a function in
an ASPX page that I need to call from an ASP page. The web site is quite busy, so I'd be
happy to find the most EFFICIENT way to do this?
Right now, I'm looking at using XMLHTTP to call the ASPX page. I'm confident that this
will work, and will return the value I want - but I'm curious if anyone feels that there
is a more efficient way to do this?

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
