Problems with submitting data to ODBC database

1 New Member
Having real problems

Created my ASP site which connected and submitted/retrieved data happily to my database which was stored on my hard drive, within the web sites folders. No code problems at all.

As soon as I put the database in the ODBC controller I can still see the data from the database but I can no longer add data back to it.

Any ideas?

Thanks

James

James,

Is the database still located in the same directory? It might be a file permission issue.

Hey Everyone.. I have a form that has approximately 7 text fields and 1 checkbox. Generally when this form is submitted(to itself BTW) it works fine, however, when the checkbox is only field that has been modified/clicked the form doesn't always submit. When it does work, a Stored procedure is passed form variables and updates to the db are made. When it doesn't, its as if the form wasn't submitted, it reloads and resets the page, but...

I've got an app written with Access XP that was deployed 2 years ago using a PostgreSQL backend database through an internet connection. Recently a client upgraded to XP Service Pack 2. After the upgrade she was unable to connect to the remote database, getting the error: Unable to connect to remote database File Name=C:\Program Files\Common Files\ODBC\Data Sources\PostgresCNI.dsn Error message: The file is not a valid compound file.

Hello, I am converting an Access database on our network to a sql 2000 backend and keeping access as the front end. The access database has evolved and been a solution to collect data but now we want to move the tables over to sql 2000. We have successfully done that but are now having difficulties with an ODBC connection. Initiall linking the tables is not an issue and I am able to connect with no problem. However after closing down...

I have transferred the data from Access to MySQL using MySQL's tool. The transfer worked great and saved me a lot of time (thanks MySQL). Now I'm trying to get the Access database, or a new access database, to talk across ODBC and see the data. I created the DSN through the control panel and it works without error. How do I setup Access so it can see the data. The data

Hi, I am need to access an ODBC data source from within my ASP.Net 2.0 (c#) application. I am Using Visual Studio 2005 Professional. I have added the ODBC objects to the toolbox, as they are not in it by default, but they still won't show. If I 'view all' on the toolbox they are there, but disabled. I assume that I can't add them to my form because I am missing a

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
