This is driving me crazy and makes no sense. Any suggestions will be
appreciated.
I upload an image to a staging area. I have written software to look at the
images, and if accepted it is moved to the user's area. The user's area for
images is at users/the_username/photo/ where users is a directory off
the root. The staging area is tmp_photo/, also off the root.
When it is in the staging area, I see the image. Using identical...

I am trying to display images from an Access 2000 database and I get an error
"Invalid Parameter Used" when I execute the code line
"picBLOB.Image = Image.FromStream(stmBLOBData)" in my Visual Basic .Net
application.
I have researched MSDN for help and found the example article 321900 (see
below) and set up a test and everything works fine when I use SQL Server 2000
but when I modify the code and use data from Access 2000 using an...

I have a database called autographs.mdb that is in the "XYZ" folder in
the "database" folder. I have a form in the database that I want to
display a photo of the celeb on. The photos are in a "graphics" folder
that is on the same level as the "xyz" folder. The only way I can seem
to make it work is to put the entire path including hard drive in the
table (c:\database\graphics\photo.jpg). But I also want to upload the
database to the web...

Hello,
Please forgive my reposting of this note with hopefully a more relevant
subject line.
On an Access 2000 form under Windows 2000 I would like to use a Kodak Image
Edit Control to display the contents of a TIFF image file. According to the
very limited documentation that I have been able to locate so far, all I
should need to do is to drop the Image Edit Control onto the form in design
mode, set the control's Image property to...

I have a client who would like to have several pictures associated
with one system. I have read about storing only the pathname to save
OLE overhead and have set-up a form for my client to browse/add one
picture at a time to a system. Now he would like to 'view' all of the
thumbnails associated with any system on a single form.
I can setup a main/subform scenario, but how do I show all of the
pictures as thumbnails. I was using the...

I have created a small program that prints out an organization chart in
PHP using the GD lib's imagecreate, imageline and imagestring
functions. Basically, a user selects an employee from a drop-down list
to generate an on-the-fly graphical organization tree. A function is
called to set the selected employee's data into an imagestring and draw
imagelines around it. Next a recursive function is called to query for
and display all direct...

Hi there,
I am using a device context (DC) and a buffer to successfully draw to screen. However, when I update the DC at very high frame rate and drag the frame containing the image very quickly over the screen or I drag another window on top of the fast display, I get errors (Pyassertion ....). I believe those are related to a conflict between the thread that is updating the buffer (over which I have control) and the thread that is doing the...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
