I have been trying to find some kind of authentication method or
script (PHP/perl/javascript or other) to achieve the following, with
no luck.
Say there are 100 files at a site. A person can choose which file to
download from a list, and to do so has to enter a code or password.
When a valid code or password is used they are redirected to a page
with a direct link to download the file.
Once that code or password has been used to...

Hello,
I'm using:
Apache/2.0.54 (Win32) mod_ssl/2.0.54 OpenSSL/0.9.7g PHP/5.0.4
MySQL 4.1.12
DocMan1.3RC1 (PHP based document manager)
I'm having following problem: file uploads OK, but problem occurs when I try to download or view the file.
After some innvestigation, I found out that only first 2MB od data is actually downloaded (exactly 2.000.000
bytes) resulting in corrupted files. (uploaded files are OK!)
I couldn't find that limit...

I've just read Christoph Schittko's article on XmlSerializer:
http://msdn.microsoft.com/library/default.asp?url=/library/en-us/dnxmlnet/html/trblshtxsd.asp
. . . and very informative it is too.
I, too, am getting nasty FileNotFound exceptions. I've read, and
digested the article, and I think I've found a bug -- it's difficult to
track, though it does happen often.

Hi all
I get an exception when trying to deserialize a simple configuration file
using XML Serialization. The very long stacktrace can be seen at the bottom
of this message. I've see other messages related a similar error but none
of the solutions suggested are valid in case :/
I have tracked the problem down to the compilation of the temporary DLL that
handles the actual serialization. The following commandline (that is one
single...

I'm hoping someone can help with this problem; I've seen only a handful of
postings related to it, but with no clear resolution.
I have an ASP.NET 1.1 page that downloads requested files via the
"Response.BinaryWrite(...)" method. The problem is that the page is
dynamically built, and after the download completes all javascript functions
suddenly break or exhibit unpredictable behavior.
I've traced the issue down the use of the...

I have compiled the portal sample comming whit whidby. While running it
ftom the IDE it works, all buttons on the start page are shown.
When I deploy the portal with the Menu "WebSite/Publish", the login,
download and create new account button isn't shown. A compare of the
html source code shows the reason:
On the published version a "PCW" is appended to the web name (I assume
it measn pre compiled web).

I am building an ASP.NET application that has a requirement that the
user should be able to download all of the data that they have input
into the system and save it to a file on their local PC. Then at some
future time they should be able to upload it back to the web server and
continue working on it. (Don't ask me why they have to be able to do
this. Apparently the users are super paranoid about saving their data
to the server and...

I've seen this question asked a few times on Internet groups and
noone seems to have figure it out.
What is going on?

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
