Well I don't have your schema but I would keep your existing Table A and create another table call it documents that has a foreign key to Table A's ID column.

For example,
Table A
ID = 1

Table B (2 columns (or 3 if you don't want composite key)
Table A ID

Then you can have a single record in Table A but many filenames in Table B.

How do I store files in a database? I have done something similar before in a none microsoft language in a previous lifetime, byt breaking it down into chunks and storing it in a BLOB field. Is this the same in SQL? I have an app written for windows in C# with SQL 2000 on the back. I have a print engine which users XML documents as the print document template, and was hoping I could store these in the database, rather than shipping...

How would I go about storing data files on my web host? I have an Access database driven website and I would like to save files and be able to download them. Can somebody point me in the right direction of how I would go about doing that? I am thinking about storing the locations of them in the database and the physical files somewhere else. Not sure how to go about it though. Thanks.

I'm a little weak on my basic I/O. Help me out please. Is it right to say that I can just open any file with file(), get it as a string, and then store in a MySql database, in, say, a MediumText field? I realize that MySql supports binary fields, but my current MySql schema does not have any binary fields, and I'm wondering if I can store the file without changing my current schema. Can I recreate the file later, if I wish, just be...

Hello, Folks. I am not sure if this can be done (and a brief search of this group didn't yield any results that I thought would do the trick) but if it can be done it would make my life easier so here goes. First, what I am trying to accomplish is to make a program I've written automatically update itself if there is a newer version on the network. Second, my application runs on one or more computers at many geographically separated...

I want to know if this practice is effective and secure: I have been thinking about storing some data, which my users upload, in text files rather than database, since often I do not know how much information users submit for things like item description or images URL paths. This information may be very short or very long. MS SQL Server requires a maximum field length to be set. Thus, if user enters 5 characters into 5000 character field,...

But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
