Web Deployment Build Error on Visual Studio 2005 running XP Home

1 New Member
I am trying to deploy an asp app to a localhost on another box. I have never done this and have installed miscrosofts Web deployment tool to aid me in this endevour Here is the relevent piece of the build output indicating the nature of the error .
/////////////////////////// WEB DEPLOYMENT BUILD OUTPUT ////////////////////////
Documents\Visua l Studio 2005\Projects\I SC\ISC_deploy\D ebug" -o ISC_deploy -debug -copyattrs
C:\Program Files\MSBuild\M icrosoft\WebDep loyment\v8.0\Mi crosoft.WebDepl oyment.targets( 474,9): error MSB6006: "aspnet_merge.e xe" exited with code 1.
Done building project "ISC_deploy.wdp roj" -- FAILED.
========== Build: 1 succeeded or up-to-date, 1 failed, 0 skipped ==========
/////////////////////////// WEB DEPLOYMENT BUILD OUTPUT ////////////////////////

Does this error have anything to do with the fact that Visual Studio 2005 is installed on a box running XP home and does not contain the IIS component?

What is wrong .. Help.

Out of no where I'm starting to get these problems and my Deployment projects won't build anymore. Does anyone have any idea what's causing this? I've tried copying these files from another VS.NET 2003 machine, but it doesn't look like it's working. The only latest change I've made to my machine was the Windows Update as of Feb. 8th, 2005. I notcied it included the .NET 1.1 SP1 and I don't know if this might have any relation? ERROR...

On reflection, you could possibly make the app a self extracting zip file which extracts the EXE and a settings file and then starts the app, then when you app closes, it can repack the settings file and itself into the exe. You would probably want a tool for this bit which could be in the zip too. So the app isnt single exe when running but when not running, it is. Just an idea for you to think about. Another option would possibly be to...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
