Create separate hyperlinks from each record

1 New Member
Hi,

I am creating this website using asp that displays different records of information. I have stored these records in a sql database in a webserver. Now, In one of my records, I have to create a link that would direct me to a serparate word document saved as a html file (I do not want this link to show up in the other record pages. This file is also stored into the same webserver as the other records. How can I create a link ONLY on one particular record that directs to the html file?

thx

This seems like an incredibly easy question, so much so that I'm hesitant to answer. I guess the only tricky part is how do you know which record to give the link to? Is the logic complicated? regardless, the code is going to be like this:
Expand|Select|Wrap|Line Numbers
  1. <%
  2. if objRS("idnum") = 243 then %>
  3.    <a href="myDoc.html">Click here</a>
  4. <%
  5. end if %>

Loop to create an array from a dynamic form. I'm having trouble with an application, and I'll try to explain it as clearly as possible: 1. I have a form with two fields, say Apples and Oranges. The user selects from a drop down menu, between 1-10 of each and clicks submit. The resulting page will display a NEW form, with rows and a list of fields for the amount of each items selected.

I am writing some code for an intranet and I need to be able to list the files in folders and subfolders and display them in the browser window as with hyperlinks. I've picked up this very useful code on the internet from www.4guysfromrolla.com. It works a treat, but one problem! If there is a filename that contains a space, e.g., "my file.doc" the hyperlink only links up to the space, e.g., it will hyperlink "my" and nothing else. ...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
