I am attempting to create a c# program to iterate through the messages in an
Outlook/Exchange
public folder and extract the headers. My apologies to the VB/VBA groups,
but you seem to
have more information for Office automation than the c# groups.
I am having some problems manipulating the various object models. I say
various because based
on what source code I could find, I am trying to use the Outlook, CDO and
MAPI type libraries

I'm in a situation, where i'm supposed to develop a windows service,
connecting to an external source, and insert new contact persons to an
Exchange public folder. Everything is going well, until I actually had to
access the Exchange folder.
First I tried interop'ing with Outlook, managing to create a contact in my
default contact folder, and then moving it to the specified public folder
(workaround). That puts up some problems...

Help!
We keep all our contacts in a public folder called "Company Contacts", I am
writing a windows forms vb.net application, where i would like to find a
contact from that public folder, and get some information from it like,
"Full Name", "Business Fax" etc etc.
Right now i have an Outlook View Control on the form (I believe it is an
activeX control) and I am finding it hard to get the view to work for me. I
can actually view the...

I have some vb.net code that goes and gets some information from our
Contacts Public folder named "Pierce Contacts". As you see from the code
below, i reference this folder by first navigating to the folder in outlook.
Is there any way to reference the public folder programatically.
The exchange public folder is under
"Public Folders"
"All Public Folders"
"Pierce Contacts"
Sample code:

I see that we can still use the CDO within the .NET framework - but is it
actually possible to create PUBLIC folders in Exchange (not individual
mailbox folders - but a new folder under the "public folder" tree)?
Thanks,
Rip

Hi
Does anyone have any tips/examples on how you can check if a windows
user account has read access to a microsoft exchange public folder?
My application can only access active directory, so if this level of
security detail is not stored here (ie in the Exchange store instead)
then I guess I'm stuck. I have read that public folder mailbox
information is stored in active directory, but I don't think this will
contain the sufficient...

hi everyone,
i hope you might help me on this one. i need to create a contact in a
exchange public folder using dotnet (vb or c#) and exchange 2003, without
using outlook object model. i'm searching for a few hours and can't find a
clear example on how to do it. i've already seen code blocks using webdav,
directory services, but always related with creating active directory users
or mail enabling users, not exactly what i'm looking for....

Hello all
I am trying to modify a CDO script that moves email messages out of a user's inbox and into a drop folder. I want to update it to use a Public Folder instead.
The portion of the original script that matters is:
' URL used for Outlook Web Access
strOWAURL = "http://servername/exchange/"

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
