Pass data from asp

Hello,

I have a form with a textarea and a submit button and that button will call
an asp file and this file will query the database. My question is how do I
pass the data to the html form so that it will be displayed in the textarea?

Thank you in advance.

You get the contents of the text area using
Request.Form("n ameOfYourTextAr ea")

If you have data to display in a text area, you'd do:

<textarea
name="something "><%=Server.HTM LEncode(sYourVa riableWithData) %></textarea>

Folks, I've asked this before but never got any response but its important and I thought I'd pitch it again (hopefully a bit clearer)... One can pass data from one function to another either by passing a copy, or passing by reference. My understanding of passing by reference (putting the & before a variable during the function declaration) means that the original data is used.

When I do the following code I get the error (Cannot pass '<this>' as a ref or out argument because it is read-only) .. Is there any way to make <this> not read-only? I have simplified the following code. There is a Task class and a Data Class. I am trying to pass the task class by ref to the data class. public class Task {

I have a modal (yes it must be modal) web page. I do this by having an empty frame that points to my main page (so that I can repost without new popups) I have to pass data to the child page from the parent and the only way I can figure to do it by the url. Please correct me if I'm wrong on that. When the data get to my frame I then have to pass the data to my child form, again through the url (i think). The only way I found to do...

I have seen examples of passing data from FormB to FormA (Parent To Child) but I need an example of passind data from FormA to FormB. My main form is FormA; I will enter some data in textboxes and click a button to bring up FormB which needs to display values entered in FormA. Thanks in advance.

Keywords: scope resolution, passing classes between parent and child forms, parameter constructor method, normal constructor, default constructor, forward reference, sharing classes between forms. Here is a newbie mistake that I found myself doing (as a newbie), and that even a master programmer, the guru of this forum, Jon Skeet, missed! (He knows this I'm sure, but just didn't think this was my problem; LOL, I am needling him) If...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
