My server asks for usename & password when opening an asp page

My newly rented 2003 Standard Edition dedicated server allows me to
access HTML or picture files but asks for username and password when I
try and open an a asp page.
I have set Authenticated User permissions to Read & Execute and
Directory properties to Scripts & Executables. What have I missed ?

Uncheck the Integrated Windows if you want the site anonymous.

Thanks Jeff, I tried Unchecking "Integrated Windows Authentication" but
instead of displaying the "Enter Network Password" dialogue box now it
just goes straight to the 401.3 Error

HTTP Error 401.3 - Unauthorized: Access is denied due to an ACL set on
the requested resource.

I am building a password protected ASP web site. (http://www.allscrewedup.org) When you go to this site there is a link in upper left corner (VIP) that takes you to a Logon Screen. The user must enter a user name and password to gain access to the secure pages which follow. This works fine and if the user can go back to the opening page by logging off (back to default link) .

I'm trying to create a login page for customers to log into our corporate website, our presidents naturally wants the user and password fields to populate from a cookie so the customer doesn't have to type their credentials every time, this seems like a pretty common thing. Hello, I'm developing a web services apllication using SQL Server in mixed mode. I'm also using WSE 3.0. For each user in the application there's a corresponding user on the database. The client always sends the username to the web service for identification. I have a connection string stored in the web service for the visual designed datasets and for the connection I make manually.

There are loads of post on this, but nothing that seems to cover my exact problem ;) I have an ASP.Net 1.1 web application running on my local machine. I want to connect to an SQL 2005 server running on Windows 2003. If I use SQL authentication, all is fine and dandy. If I want to use windows authentication it gives the above error. My SQL server is set to allow both methods (first thing I checked) and is part of the domain (2nd...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
