Hi,
I am trying to create a VB6 application which can act as a 'connection
broker' for other applications being run on the same machine.
Essentially, the broker app will setup a number of connections to our
legacy system. Another system will call a Java object, which will
communicate with a COM object, which I want then to query the running
broker app to be given a specific object reference to a free
connection, which it can then use.

I have a project in which I need to send info to/get info from a RS-232 port of the server depending on the client clicks on a asp web page.
How can I access a serial port from the ASP code itself. I tried to use MSCOMM... But it is not working. Is there any way to do this?
As an alternative mechanism, we planned to shift all the communication related stuff to Visual C++ application which sits as a service in the Server and do the necesary...

How do I communicate with a USB device using C# in a regular Windows
application (that is, not in Windows CE or another version)? I would assume
that there is a library and documentation on this somewhere, but so far have
been unable to find it.
Thank you.

I have written an application using VB.Net 2003 which contains a single timer
control (Interval set to 5 seconds) and a function which uses the
BeginReceiveFrom Socket function.
The problem I am having is that everytime the timer runs and calls the
function which sends and receives data through the UDP protocol, it increases
the systems thread count by 1.
After the software running for around 1 hour windows cracks it as I am using
too...

I am writing a mobile application to interface with a legacy system and I am
planning to use web services to communicate with this system. The legacy
system receives data through a serial port. What I would like to do is make
the serial port accessible via a web service.
The web service and the legacy application would be running on the same
machine. The mobile application would access the web service via a network
connection. It...

I have an application where I would like to block waiting on an asynchronous
event and still process messages. I can implement a hard loop to block such
as:
Do While StillWaiting
Application.DoEvents
Loop
In this case the asynchronous thread can just set StillWaiting=False when
complete.

Hello!
Below is the Netbeans Mobility source code for my application (The application offers SPP service, and then just hangs waiting for a client to connect (using acceptAndOpen()). The other device (A7 Engineering's eb506 Bluetooth serial adapter connected to a microcontroller) connects to the phone, but is not linked to my application).
If I make the connection directly from the phone (Nokia 6085) to the eb506, there is no problem...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
