asp pages (www.charon.com.hk), since my database (access)
have Big5 chinese fonts, and I am hosting in a english
2000 server with chinese fonts pack installed, my databse
font can show up correctly in product details page,
however, when I add the items to my shopping cart, all
the fonts become ??????????????? inside the shopping
cart, it's seems all the chinese become ??????? when
stored in temp space

pls, acutally, I have already added this asp encode in
all my *.asp pages, however, the shopping cart still
can't work with chinese.,
950 stand for chinese big5 font.

In Visual Studio .NET IDE font settings (Tools, Options, Environment \ Font and Colors), some installed fonts are not listed. And funnily, when you choose different selections in "Show settings for:" drop down, different fonts are missing or listed. For example, for Text Editor, you can choose the MS Sans Serif font, but for Dialogs and Tool Windows, MS Sans Serif is not listed. For all settings except for Printer, Tahoma is not listed but...

We moved some pages of Japanese, Korean and Chinese from one server to another. In doing so, the users with Windows XP could still see the Asian fonts. However, a user with Windows 2000 could no longer see the Asian fonts, but he could when the pages were on the other server. Can anyone think of why a Windows 2000 user could once see Asian fonts but cannot now? These are the meta tags I used on those pages: <meta...

Don't really want to embed fonts, it adds to the download time, although this may be my only choice. I am also not sure how the browsers handle families of fonts. I am using Arial and Sans-Serif for ALL the languages and the client sees empty squares instead of a language font until they install a particular culture. Embedding a whole family of fonts does not sound like a fast download.

The never-ending debate about PEP 3131 got me thinking about natural languages with respect to Python, and I have a bunch of mostly simple observations (some factual, some anecdotal). I present these mostly as food for thought, but I do make my own continent-by-continent recommendations at the bottom of the email. (My own linguistic biases are also disclosed at the bottom of the email.) Nationality of various technologists who use...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends, With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
