We're working on an intranet site where we will require user's to only
be able to access their own page in some instances. Rather than
introducing another password to the mix, we were thinking about seeing
if we could use the same credentials (username and password) as their
linux credentials. The web site will be running off of the same machine
that we want to access the credentials on.
Thanx!

Hello all,
I want to use the POST method to submit the form and then grab the
parameters in the asp file with request.form("parm").
The problem is that I am using the _search target to open the asp
page.
When I use _blank target there is no problem, either I use GET or POST
method.
But when I use _search target, only GET method works.

I've been running many tests of the Asynchronous Delegate technique
and I find that although BeginInvoke() does queue the method delegate
onto a worker thread, it always does so on the _same_ thread. So if I
call BeginInvoke() three times in a row, the method delegates are
queued to the same thread and the second method doesn't begin until
the first method completes, and the third doesn't begin until the
second completes.
This occurs...

Is there a way to inform all users concurrently using same web
application when one user has made changes to data?
Remote scripting has that ability to send data to client but can't be
done without the client invoking the call to server.
Just need a kick in right direction.
Thanks!

Hello,
I am developing a BHO that should add a custom HTTP header on a
specific domain only. Don't want the header globally, otherwise I
could just add a registry key.
So, on BEFORENAVIGATE2, I am canceling the current navigation and
renavigating with the new custom header using Navigate2. This usually
works fine, but in some cases (particularly when selecting a link that
starts a new window), the Navigate2 call fails.

I have multiple threads writing to WebBrowser (using a function that
checks InvokedRequired, and if so, invokes itself on the WebBrowser
thread) and they are getting deadlocked.
They only deadlock when I use lock { } around the call to
WebBrowser.Write to ensure thread safety!
Does any one have experience with such a thing?

I'm trying to use the String method parseJSON (that is created in the
javascript of a frameset) in one of the frames but I don't know how to
correctly reference it. This:
notes = str.parseJSON();
doesn't seem to work - I get the error "str.parseJSON is not a
function". And this:
notes = str.parent.parseJSON();

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

The next Access Europe User Group meeting will be on Wednesday 1 May 2024 starting at 18:00 UK time (6PM UTC+1) and finishing by 19:30 (7.30PM).
In this session, we are pleased to welcome a new presenter, Adolph Dupré who will be discussing some powerful techniques for using class modules.
He will explain when you may want to use classes instead of User Defined Types (UDT). For example, to manage the data in unbound forms.
Adolph will...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
