Reading material requested

I am -totally- new to programming. I got stuck with this assignment because
no one else wanted it so it was assigned to me.

I am looking for a book that covers ASP that is easy to read and more
importantly easy to understand. I don't have much time to learn this
language. We have several problems at our site and they expect me to fix
them ASAP.

Thanks!

IMO, the best book is Beginning Active Server Pages 3.0 from Wrox.

I second that, no doubt about it.

Thank you Tom & Ray for your suggestion! I scanned most of the reviews about
the book. Nothing less than four stars! I am off to pick up the book!

THANK YOU!

Wish me luck cause I am going to need it!
Cheers!

One sad thing to be aware of is that Wrox exists no more... It's a shame.
I don't think I've ever not liked a Wrox book that I've read. But this one
should still exist somewhere!

Cheer up Ray! Wrox still exists! They had some temporary down time, but
they did not go away. All of their books should still be available (except
some old out of date, out of print stuff). :)

I tried to find the book Beginning Active Server Pages 3.0 in several local
book stores. I even checked out used bookstores in my area hoping that I
could pick up a copy there. No such luck. The only place I was able to
purchase the book was via Amazon.com thanks to Ray and Tom. The best part is
that it only cost me twenty bucks! I could have paid less but this book will
serve as reference material for a long time so I rather have a new copy.

Thank you Peter for the link! At least I can download the source code for
the entire book and print out the errata now. At this point all I can do is
wait. My boss won't like this but I am sure that he will understand. No one
else wanted this assignment anyway.

Thanks guys for your help! I am sure that we will "talk" soon after I
receive the book.

Cheers!

around or back.

Hello, I took quite elaborate SQL and SQL-admin courses at Oracle, but that was years ago. Have never since used SQL but for some extremely simple straightforward queries on single table db's. So while conjoins, inner and outer joins et cetera ring some bells, I wouldn't know how to tell one from the other anymore, let alone put them to good use. So I decided to check for some good reading material that starts from scratch but quickly...

I have a C# application that connects to Perl application on a UNIX server. I am able to connect and communicate both directions with the server, but there are several occasions when it appears that the BinaryReader only reads part of the message sent by the server. Here is the main flow of my application. 1. Open Socket 2. Read 4 byte integer 3. Read byte array that is the size of the integer in step 2. 4. Put message in collection

Hello All, I need some material for the reading room. Specifically, I'm interested in gaining a well-rounded education in regards to OOP and all its associations. I've gobbled up as much as I can about C# and the tactical aspects of the language and can hack together a respectable attempt at a functional, working program but I feel that, in order to move to the next stage of professional development, I need more thoery.

Hello NG, that may sound a silly question, but I didn't find anything really clear about the issue of reading unformatted big endian files with Python. What I was doing till now, was using Fortran to read those files and compile this Fortran extension using F2PY. Now that it seems that no possible combinations of Fortran/C compilers actually *work* with Python 2.4 on Windows XP, I was trying to translate the Fortran subroutine to...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
