Issue with Response.Redire ct / Server.Transfer

Hi,

I have a problem with getting a redirect to work on our server.

It's worked fine on our server for months, but suddenly won't work and I
can't figure out why.

codewise, It's nothing special:

Response.Redire ct("indexThankY ou.htm");

instead of redirecting the browser to this page, an JavaScript-alert-style
message comes up with the text:

Cannot Find 'file://E:\wwwroot\mdc0 0152-learnproengine2 _00\index.htm'. Make
sure the path or Internet address is correct.

(No page exists, nor was there ever any mention of it in the code)

I've examined the output with fiddler to find:

<html><head><ti tle>Object moved</title></head><body>
<h2>Object moved to <a
href='E:\wwwroo t\mdc00152-learnProEnginev 2_00\index.htm' >here</a>.</h2>
</body></html>

I've checked that the aspnet client folder, and it's there and loads with a
code 200 (from fiddler)

Has anyone any ideas why this might have suddenly stopped working? Does
this sound like a cache-ing problem? The code has worked fine previously.

It would be preferable if I could get this working again without rebuilding
the application.

Thanks in advance.

Do you have any third party controls in use with this application?
Perhaps an evaluation or license period has ended and this is a
misguided way to alert you of the expiration.

I would also check if anyone has installed something new onto the
server or modified the Machine.config. This looks like very strange
behavior.

Hi, I'd like to know the performance related differences between Response.Redirect and Server.Transfer. I'd like to redirect the user to a different page. I can either do a Response.Redirect("URL") or a Server.Transfer("URL"). So I'd like to find out which is more efficient/better. Can anyone please tell me or give any pointers to links on the web? Thanks & Regards

In file FIRST.ASP, I've got <% Response.Redirect "SECOND.ASP" %> The redirect is happening, and I'm seeing the content from SECOND.ASP in the browser, but the URL in the browser is still saying FIRST.ASP. Does anyone know why this is happening and how I can insure the browser displays SECOND.ASP? I'm using IE6.

When a server encounters the line Response.Redirect("abcd.asp") in a ASP script, the server tells the browser that it has to be redirected to another page (which is abcd.asp, in this case). The browser then makes a new request to the server to redirect itself to abcd.asp after which the user gets redirected to abcd.asp. But in case of Server.Execute (or Server.Transfer), when the server

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own.... Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
