How can I get text to remain on the Browser's statusbar?
For example, if I'm saving data to a DB Table after a user
clicks a Button in the ASP page, I want the statusbar to
show something like "Save Successful" or "Save Failed" so
they know something happened.
Right now, I'm trying to use the windows.status property,
but it just flashes real quickly in the statusbar and
then "Done" is displayed. 2 1483
it's accessable through client-side javascript

You do this from client-side script.

Using a standard status bar control and the VB browser control I want to be
able to display the URL of a link that is hovered over in the browser
control. Documentation indicates that the browser control was designed to
let you set the StatusBar property to true and then use the StatusText
property in the StatusTextChange event to get the URL and display it. But
the StatusText property isn't implemented so this does not work. Is there...

If I manage to call the following bit of javascript in IE and MZ
w = window.open("", "s", 'status=no,resizable=no,width=450,height=450');
I get a window that is not resizable and without a statusbar. Yet FF
gives me both a statusbar and the window is resizable! Does this mean
that FF does not support these "features" or is there a different way to
code them for FF?

Hi all,
I have an application with a few different Windows forms. I am trying to
update a statusbar panel's text that is in the main form, from another form.
When I set the statusbar and the statusbar panels to public and shared in
VS.net's property box it will work. However, whenever I make any
modifications to the main form it will remove the shared property and I will
get build errors about accessing the panels with "this.".

Hi Gang,
I've had this happen with a couple of controls now, but my patience has worn
thin. Can somebody tell me why I can read/write to most objects on my form
from my module, but not when working with StatusBar.Text?
Thanks in Advance,

Another step on the road to enlightenment, aka producing a UI. I've
added a webbrowser control to a form, and I want it to fill the space
of the form. Playing around with docking, left, top, width, height
resolutely refuses to do this, as it remains docked top-left at around
100,100 within the form, with a size of approx 300,250.
How do I fill the winform with the wb control?
Reading further, it looks like another argument for...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...
