I created a (real estate) site which has an area that is used by the agent
to post and edit property listings. They have the ability here to upload
pictures.
If the listing is new, it is assigned an ID, info posted to database and a
directory created using the ID to hold the uploaded pics.
The problem I have is that when they add a listing and the directory gets
created, it is uid/gid apache/apache, and this should work fine for web...

Hi all, need help -
As part of a ASP-based AD account creation tool, I need to
set file permissions on the newly-created user's home
folders. I'm using CACLS to do this and calling it from
within the ASP page. The page is used by instructors who
do not have admin rights (OU that they work in has been
delegated to them and they have "Modify" and
various "Special" NTFS permissions on the home share,
including "Change Permissions". I'm...

I am developing a small website using ASP scripts to format data retrieved
from an Access database. It will run on a Windows 2003 server supporting
FrontPage extensions 2002 hosted by the company 1&1 with only limited server
configuration via a web based control panel.
My query relates to the ASP security model and how it relates to FrontPage
options for setting file access on a database file. If you know of any
online documentation...

Hi
This has been tickling my mind for quite some time. Can someone tell
me if Access 2003 has a solution for it.
After a period of development, your front end will definitely bloat
despite all the compacting and decompiling you do. The best solution
so far I have found is to create a fresh new mdb file and import all
table (links), queries, forms, reports, menu, macros and modules. That
is great: file size shrinks and it runs faster...

Hello:
I had a nice php application running on my server here at home, and I
uploaded it to a shared public type server and it started to break all
over the place. It turns out that some scripts required higher
permissions that others, but I can't figure out what the difference is.
They all read from the database. Some write to the database, but not
all the ones that require higher permissions do. I don't understand
what it is about...

I need some advice re permissions etc. Here's the situation: at my workplace, I have a website which sits in a folder created by the IT manager, and given certain permissions (I'm not even yet sure how to determine what the permissions are). Whenever I'm at my workplace I just copy and paste files from my local machine to the web folder and it's on the web. Easy!
But at home, I have dialup access and needed to upload files to the same folder....

I need some help with a problem I've encountered. I am a zLinux, WAS, and DB2 noob so please bear with me.
I am helping to support two WebSphere applications which utilize DB2 under zLinux. One application is for Europe and the other for the US. Each application has multiple WAS servers and HTTP servers backed by their own DB2 server. A script is run for each application that exports data from a z/OS-based DB2 database into a file on the...

Hi community,
the log files in SQLOGDIR have -rw------ as permissions. How can I
change the permissions to -rw-r----, also for newly created logfiles?
Thanks in advance,
Axel.

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Overview:
Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
