Admin can't delete a folder?

Hi all,
I'm a Win2000 professional user - sP 4. I can't delete some folders in
e:\inetpub\wwwr oot\...\.
I've created them by FrontPage2000 SR1. I enter Windows as Administrator,
then I should be able to
create /delete all objects. On the contrary, each time I attempt to erase
the assigned folder Windows
warns me so:
"Access is denied. The source file may be in use."

Thanks in advance.

Wrong. You have the right, as Admin, to take ownership for anything you do
not have ownership/rights of and then you can assign yourself rights to
delete any object. Admin rights, at the file system level, only has inherit
rights if inherit rights are set. If explicit rights have been assigned,
then Admin rights can be removed by owner with those rights.

This is not a rights issue. Have you tried stopping the virtual server
before trying to remove the folders?

ASP probably won't help you in this case, but posting in a Windows
administration group probably would. Ask for an explanation of rights
and the Take Ownership option.

Hi there, I just distributed an application in which I (try to) change db.properties depending on CurrentUser() For instance I set the property's AllowBypassKey and AllowBuiltinToolbars to False when CurrentUser() <> "xx" I just noticed that the property's can only be changed changed by a user belonging to 'Admins'. I never noticed this before. I could swear that in other apps (A97) this works fine without the user being an admin... ...

Hi group, I am getting the "could not load type" error and I'm not sure how to debug. Obviously it's a namespace error but I don't see it. Below are code snippets. Yes, the files sit in a subdirectory called "admin". The webpages in the root directory, "psyche" do not have any errors. So it's something with the name admin? But what? Yes, all of the webpages in the admin directory have the same error with their respective webpages in the...

I have written the following program using VS2005. The program is a Dynamic Array similar to System.Collections.ArrayList in .NET. The program works okay until I reach 65536, I can't seem to figure out why, as it seems my logic is working okay. I am a .NET programmer so I am not used to dealing with un-managed C++ code. Please criticize my code if you think it is poorly written. This is the loop from main() that will blow up the program...

Hi, I have the following code to select a folder and then delete it. I keep getting a Path/File error on the line that deletes the actual folder. The line before that line deletes the files in the folder but I get the error message when the procedure attempts to delete the folder selected in the BrowseforFolderbyPath function. How can I get it to delete the folder that the user has selected in the Browse for Folder dialog?

Hi, I have an issue where users require local administrator access on the pc to be able to run a particular program. However I do not want these users to have local admin access on their pc's. I know the particular folders on the C:\ drive that they need local admin access to to be able to run the program. Is it possible to allow the users to only have local admin access on this particular folder without having local admin rights to the...

Hi guys. I’m still occupied with school, however, I can’t quite help thinking about a part of my project that I’m very curious about. I want to protect files and folders on the web server, so that no one can access the files through the web server OS (using e.g. windows explorer to see, open and edit the html or php files). I want to clarify: I do not want to “hide” the html source file, or any other file that otherwise is accessible...

Hello folks, I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>". The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed. This is as boiled down as I can make it. Here is my compilation command: g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp Here is the code in...
