Trying to put website on CDROM, having problem with ASP....

I am trying to burn copies of our website on CDROM's and
having problems because the ASP's cannot work without the
existance of a server that supports ASP's.
Does anyone have a suggestion or know of a way I can make
this work?

Thanks,
Chad

Depends what you are trying to do?

Database - that's biggish problem unless you can use XML documents.
XML / XSLT - these can be done client-side.
ActiveX / DLL - just distribute an installer.

There are some third party solutions that 'compile' your ASP website to make
it browse off a CD.

Chris.

Hello, I am a pure Linux guy. I wrote a Java program that is going to be used by some Windows people, and I wish the startup of the program to be as simple as possible, namely to double-click on the icon of a BAT script on the CDROM. The program accesses files in a directory which path is given as an argument on the command line. The script I have now is the following: --- start of script ---

I am reading this book - Java Unleashed - However I cannot get the programs on the CD because the CDrom no longer works. I am just wondering if anyone has the CDrom available and can send me a copy of the source code for the programs. If you do, you can send me to my google account drpanli@gmail.com and it will be able to receive large email files. Thanks all in advance.

I searched the FAQ for this NG and found no answers to my question... I'm writing an application in Java (I'm not a C programmer), however I need to be able to detect WHICH drive (d:\, e:\ etc...) on a win2k machine the CDROM drive is on. I assume that C or C++ can do this. The C/C++ code will then be wrapped in a JNI layer to be used by the java code. Basically, all I want the C code to do is return a letter corresponding to the...

I am writing a C# app that needs to periodically poll for cdroms and usb storage device insertions. I've looked at the WMI functions but haven't found anything all that useful. The closest is Win32_DiskDrive, but it doesn't seem to return any information on cdrom devices. I suspect there might be a Win32 API call, but I haven't found any info yet using Google. Is there a way to achieve this in C#?

Hi, I'm quite new in C++ programing and I want to ask, if I can handle events in simple console-like program. For example I need one loop to repeat until some key is pressed. Is it possible to make? And then I would like to ask, if it is possible to read data from cdrom over IDE. My intention is, to make a program for PSP (PlayStation Portable), which could read data from cdrom connected to PSP (don't know exactly how yet, but frirst of...

Hi guys, I'm looking for a way to temporarily disable the removable storage in Windows. This is useful in a lab situation where the instructor conducts a test and the devices can be disabled and enabled unpon request. What I'm looking at is for a way to block access to the removable drives for a period in which a session is active. This include floppy, cdrom and usb stores. 1. I've tried setting the registry entry...

Overview: Windows 11 and 10 have less user interface control over operating system update behaviour than previous versions of Windows. In Windows 11 and 10, there is no way to turn off the Windows Update option using the Control Panel or Settings app; it automatically checks for updates and installs any it finds, whether you like it or not. For most users, this new feature is actually very convenient. If you want to control the update process,...

Hello I'm a network technician in training and I need your help. I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs. The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols. I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
