Hello,
This is probably not the correct forum to post this problem but I posted it
in the Access group but didn't get a reply and I'd like to move forward on
this.
I have setup an ODBC Connection to a MySQL database (driver version is 3.51)
but when I setup the link in MS Access 2002 some of the tables will show
#Name? in all of the fields, some will show #Deleted in all of the fields
and some will work (except I can't update them). ...

Hi,
I have a local user on our network running MS Access 2003 (on Win XP
Home), which needs to connect to a Back-End MySQL DB on our Cobalt
Qube 3 Server.
I installed the correct software to run the Access on their Win XP OS,
and installed the ODBC MySQL Driver 3.51.
When I test the connection in the ODBC panel, CONNECTED !
Then I open MS Access, and great, the app works.

I changed from Access97 to AccessXP and I have immense performance
problems.
Details:
- Access XP MDB with Jet 4.0 ( no ADP-Project )
- Linked Tables to SQL-Server 2000 over ODBC
I used the SQL Profile to watch the T-SQL-Command which Access ( who
creates the commands?) creates and noticed:

Hello all,
Currently we are implementing an Access database which has to send some (not
much) data over a WAN. We are using an Access front end and an Access back
end. Basicly the front end runs local, but at the end of the session the
front end needs to write the data to the back end on the WAN.
The responsible IT manager asked me to use a ODBC linkage between the
database, since this sends smalles packages of data (which minimizes the...

Hey guys, I have an ODBC problem that has me stumped. I wrote a VBA
script to run in Microsoft Excel that pulls data out of an application
using that application's ODBC driver and puts it into Excel. I am
trying to translate the same program over to Microsoft Access and I ran
into a problem. Access locks up if the data I am querying for is not
present in the database.
To retrieve data from the database of the application, my Excel...

We connect via terminal services to an excel spreadsheet that has an
ODBC link to an access database using a pivot table, when we try to
refresh the data within the excel spreadsheet we receive the following
error "the microsoft jet database engine cannot find the input table or
query....."
this works ok if the user connects to terminal services as the
administrator however if they connect as any other issue it won't work
Anyone got...

I'm experimenting with using Access 2k2 as a front end to Oracle
Express. I am creating 10 tables using pass through DDL queries. The
PROBLEM is the general format of the VB code WORKS on the 1st 6 tables
created, then an error is thrown which I can't find much help on. I've
compared the code on the 6th table to the 5th which is successful, and
the general format is the same. It seems the more you try, the quicker
the problem is...

I recently started a co-op/internship at a company and they are
looking to migrate a large legacy supported application from OLEDB to
SQL Server. I'm doing prelim work in experimenting with the options
available. The application is huge (1+ million lines of C++ code), so
it'd be quite a bit of man hours to adapt all the database code for
SQL Server. I stumbled upon linked tables in an OLEDB file to an ODBC
source (such as SQL Server) and...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
