Hello,
This is a simple thing but somehow I can't work it :((((
I have a self-submitting form displaying data from a database. To keep
track which data to show I want to create a variable that keeps track
how many times the page is visited.
The idea is:
first call to page:var is not set => set var=0,

Hi all,
This has been asked in the past in different ways. I'm still a bit
confused about setting up counters. I'm quite new to php. I've read
few tutorials about writing counters using cookie and sessions. It
sounds quite straight-forward. But what I'm unsure about is- if the
browser is set to accept cookies manually and the user blocks the
cookie, what happens? I think in that case, the counter is not
incremented because the value is...

I've just released an article on using Test Driven Development with C# and
Windows Forms. GUI's are often difficult to test, so I thought it might be
of interest.
The article along with the example source code can be downloaded here:

The article text is below. Not sure what it will do to the formatting when

Hi!
I guess this must be a FAQ but I'll give it a try.
I've searched the web and usenet archive and found only negative
answers. But most of them were dated like 3-4 years back. Hasn't
anything changed since then? DB2 V7.2.
The problem:
I have a table with a primary key GENERATED BY DEFAULT AS IDENTITY.
Then I INSERT several rows and force their PK's value. Then I see that
my INSERTs haven't modified the value of DB2's internal IDENTITY

Hi,
Can anyone tell me how the initial value displayed in Combo Box is
determined when a form is opened?
I am loading the dropdown from one field ("CategoryName") of a table, with
"ORDER BY ". The values in the dropdown are loaded in the
correct order, but the initial value is not the first row of the dropdown as
I expected.
The field "CategoryName" is not the primary key for the table -- the PK is

Hello,
I fill a dropdown with data from sql server with vbscript. In the view
on the sql server are just citynames, only one row. To fill the
dropdown takes round about 4 seconds. That's not nice, but if it only
happens on page load, I can live with it. The realy bad thing is the
posback. Either it takes 20 seconds and more, if I do a databind() on
the dropdown, or the hole page crash.
I tested it with dataset and datareader. Both...

Hi!
I write, use and reuse a lot of small python programs for variuos purposes in my work. These use a growing number of utility modules that I'm continuously developing and adding to as new functionality is needed. Sometimes I discover earlier design mistakes in these modules, and rather than keeping old garbage I often rewrite the parts that are unsatisfactory. This often breaks backwards compatibility, and since I don't feel like updating...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
