Can anyone point me in the right direction? I want to use Php to
automate confirmation of someone joining an email list by them replying
to an email (so they don't have to have a browser?).
I will probably use a hyperlink with a unique ID, but I also want to
know how to go about reading from a mailbox with Php so I can use an
email reply method, too.
I'm having trouble finding any kind of tutorial. From the bit of
searching I've done,...

Just looking for suggestion on how to do this in my Web application.
The goal is to keep track of what a user has and hasn't read and present him or
her with new material
I am currently doing this by aggregating new content from all databases into a
single indexed database and then saving a timestamp in the account database
(for the current user) that tells me when the user last read items in the
aggregated database.

Hi,
I would like to start a new process and be able to read/write from/to
it. I have tried things like...
import subprocess as sp
p = sp.Popen("cmd.exe", stdout=sp.PIPE)
p.stdin.write("hostname\n")
however, it doesn't seem to work. I think the cmd.exe is catching it.

Okay I call Console.Read() twice. However when I come up on my second
Console.Read() ASCII character 10 is already on the console (that's a line
feed).
How do I clear out that line feed before I call Console.Read() again?

I just reinstalled .NET 2003 (after repeated attempts to get ASP.NET
Web Applications to work). I first did a complete uninstall of .NET
2003, .NET Framework 1.1, and IIS. I also completely deleted
c:\inetpub\wwwroot and rebooted before reinstalling.
I created a new virtual directory from within IIS (e.g. MyWebTest).
Then I tried to create a new Visual C# ASP.NET Web Application
pointing to the location http://localhost/MyWebTest. I get...

Greetings everyone!
I am creating a webcontrol that reads one or more directorie's content and
displays all the filenames (tipically PDFs or PPTs) so that the user can
select the desired one and see the content. We call it FileBrowser (oh so
clever)
The purpose of this control is to display security bulletins, tutorials,
user manuals on a corporate Intranet. So far so good.

I got a problem with serial port read which I use like this:
sp.Read (byteBuffer, 0, 100);
but the problem is that it returns before it has read the 100 bytes - is
there a way to set up the port in a syncronious state so that it wont return
before it has finished? And no - I can't use the work around to smaple until
I got all 100 bytes read because I use the timeout option in my app.
Thanks

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...
