Hello,
I am going nuts. I am trying to connect to my local ORACLE instance using
ODBC.
It used to work few weeks ago, but it fails now.
Connection with:
- SQL*plus: connection works!
- DataDirect 5.0 Oracle Wire protocol (3rd party ODBC driver): connection
works when I hit the driver's "test connection"

I am using Access 2003 and are linking to an Oracle 9i ODBC datasource
(using Oracle ODBC drivers). After linking the tables in Access, I inspect
the data contained in the linked tables. For tables that involve a number
field as the primary key, the data is returned successfully. For tables

Hi,
I created a linked server for MS SQL Server 2005 Express to an Oracle
database using the OLE DB Provider for ODBC. My ODBC Source uses the
Microsoft ODBC for Oracle driver.
I'm using the OLE DB Provider for ODBC instead of the Oracle OLE DB
providers because those don't handle Oracle's Numeric Data Type well.
When I set this up yesterday it worked fine. However I log in today and

I am having trouble getting linked Oracle 9 server in MS SQL Server
2005 Express to work properly. My machine is running Windows XP.
The Microsoft and Oracle OLE DB Providers have problems dealing with
Oracle's Numeric Data Type, so I decided to use Microsoft's OLE DB for
ODBC Provider and an Oracle ODBC source. When using the Microsoft ODBC

I was messing around with the native ODBC module (I am using Python in
a Win32 environment), e.g:
import dbi, odbc
....and it seems to meet my needs. I'd rather use a module that comes
natively with Python if it works (don't care about performance in this
particular use case; just that it works).

RE: Access 2003 using WinXP SP2
Problem: When I start up my app I double click either one of my two
Oracle tables in the table list, it asks for an id and pass. I need
them to be linked at startup automatically.
The Oracle db contains two tables I need.
I've already created an ODBC data source that contains the userid and
pass to link to the Oracle DB. It works.
When I go into linked table manager, I can link to them just fine

I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
