Hello.
I have a question about handling special cases of session expiration.
In a project I'm working on, the users must log out or else their
profile will be left in an unusable state -- at least until the
administrator fixes it by hand.
What is the proper way of handling this? Is there a way to supply a
function that is called when a session times out? What if the browser
is closed?

Hello everyone and thanks for your help in advance. I am
working on an application to track visitors to my
website. However, I am confused as to what data to
capture for the session, specifically the Remote_Host,
UserHostAddress, and UserHostname. I am unclear as to
whether the Remote_Host and UserHostAddress are the same
thing and what exactly the UserHostName signifies. I
have checked many resources, but can't seem to get clear
on...

I am using a couple of session variables in my site. From what I can figure
out, session information is stored on the users computer in a cookie -
If the user has cookies disabled, do session variables still work - just
without the option of setting the Timeout property, as I'm assuming?

I have searched but info is limitted.
In my test app i used a non persistant cookie for forms authentication.
slidingExpiration is set to true
On run and close and rerun the login remains ok.
I have a time-out of one minute and indeed, it directs me to the login if i
wait to long.
The slidingExpiration does it's work also.

Hello,
I've been reading that ASP.NET serialises (ie. processes one at a time) HTTP
requests if two simultaneous requests need to access the same session state.
It also makes note that ASP.NET tries to reacquire a lock on the session
state every 1/2 second until the timeout is reached, and then it will
forcibly release the previous users lock and take the lock for itself.
What is this timeout figure?

I have a global.asax file with Application_Start defined and create some
static data there and in another module used in the asp.net application and
I realize that static data is shared amongst child apps of an IIS
application and can be used by multiple users during the application life
cycle and for multiple page loads for the same or different page under a
root application.
What I don't understand and need to know is whether that...

Most computers default to English, but sometimes we require a different language, especially when relocating. Forgot to request a specific language before your computer shipped? No problem! You can effortlessly switch the default language on Windows 10 without reinstalling. I'll walk you through it.
First, let's disable language synchronization. With a Microsoft account, language settings sync across devices. To prevent any complications,...

Hello folks,
I am unable to find appropriate documentation on the type promotion of bit-fields when using the generalised comparison operator "<=>".
The problem is that using the GNU compilers, it seems that the internal comparison operator "<=>" tries to promote arguments from unsigned to signed.
This is as boiled down as I can make it.
Here is my compilation command:
g++-12 -std=c++20 -Wnarrowing bit_field.cpp
Here is the code in...

Dear forum friends,
With the development of smart home technology, a variety of wireless communication protocols have appeared on the market, such as Zigbee, Z-Wave, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, etc. Each protocol has its own unique characteristics and advantages, but as a user who is planning to build a smart home system, I am a bit confused by the choice of these technologies. I'm particularly interested in Zigbee because I've heard it does some...

Let's talk about the concept of autonomous AI software engineers and no-code agents. These AIs are designed to manage the entire lifecycle of a software development project—planning, coding, testing, and deployment—without human intervention. Imagine an AI that can take a project description, break it down, write the code, debug it, and then launch it, all on its own....
Now, this would greatly impact the work of software developers. The idea...

Hello
I'm a network technician in training and I need your help.
I am currently learning how to create and manage the different types of VPNs and I have a question about LAN-to-LAN VPNs.
The last exercise I practiced was to create a LAN-to-LAN VPN between two Pfsense firewalls, by using IPSEC protocols.
I succeeded, with both firewalls in the same network. But I'm wondering if it's possible to do the same thing, with 2 Pfsense firewalls...
